Tuesdays: An Outbreak Story

This started off as supposed to be going into the "Outbreak during a typical weekday" topic, but I got really into it. Most of this about the layout of the area and the school is true, some is a little stretched to fit into the story, so are other details, but the names are all true, at least lol. The topic title had to include my name because it had to be between 10 and 150 characters long, and Tuesdays is 8 :/ . I'm giving you guys the first part. I add a little every now and then, whatever I think of. Anyway, without further ado, here it is:


God, I've always hated Tuesdays....and Science class. In my school Earth Science is fucking 1 hour long. I sit in the back so I don't get called on to answer questions much. Our teacher was late, and it was hot and humid out. The science teacher usually goes to the weight room before my class because there is a 2 hour break between his first class and this one. I decided to attempt to do some homework for the last class of today that I didn't do. I only heard the things that happened next because I'm in a fucked up school to begin with.....

While I was doing my homework, my teacher stumbled in and was moaning. I thought it was him complaining about working out too hard or something. I glanced up and realized he was sweating, then back to my homework. I heard a few other moans at the front of the classroom, then screams. I looked up and the teacher and 8 other classmates were biting other students. Due to my knowledge on the Zombie Survival Guide, I had an idea of what was going on. I quickly ran out the door at the back of the classroom, into the hall. I slammed it in my stupidity and panic, forgetting that sound attracts zombies. I run down the hall, but my senses come back to me and I start sneak-rushing, it was a technique I learned on the History Channel about how SWAT Teams do this so they can move faster than walking, but still be silent-like: Heel to Toe, light feet.

I go down the school stairs, no zombie in site yet. I get to the bottom and look left, nothing. My teachers lock the classroom doors during class so if any zombies were to get out it would be through my Science classroom. I go right, and look through the HighSchool Office glass, there are 3 zombies there, the principal and his 2 secretaries, and I have no choice but to go past. They notice me, of course, but unfortunately, so do the 4 student zombies in the lounge across from the office. I notice they don't go any faster than shuffling towards me, so I take advantage of that and keep doing the SWAT rushing technique, since it is still lunch time, and to get to where I'm going, I need to go past the cafeteria. The only easy part about this is that the lunch times are set up in periods, and the lunch people shut the main entrance doors so nobody leaves early. I make it past the cafeteria easily, but with 7 zombies still following me as fast as they can. I make a right at the end of the hall and see where I want to go: to the weight room. The humidity level seems to have dropped to about 5% since I left the Science room.

I make my way to the door, and slowly open it. Nobody in here so far. But I spot my weapon behind the cage at the back of the room. I shut the door behind me, quietly, and lock it, with a little *click* and climb down the few stairs into the room. I check my corners and nothing. I go to the back of the room, trying to be aware of my surroundings as possibly. I reach the steel, semi-rusted cage surrounding my weapon and some other track and field equipment. It's dead silent, no noise. There is a lock on the cage door, "Fuck!" I whisper-yell. I hear a moan and from the teacher's office to the weight room comes a zombie. I search around for a weapon as he slowly come towards me, and I spot the bar used for the bench-lifting...thing, I can't remember the name, and there's no time now! I pick up the bar, and the only reason I can is because it doesn't have any weights on it, I hold it like a staff so I have full control, and swing it as hard as I can at the zombie's head. I miss. So I recover from the swing and swing again, this time landing a shot on the left temple of the zombie and the zombie goes down. I was thankful for the head not exploding under the pressure of the hit, or that would have meant certain infection. I put the bar down without dropping it, and attend to me figuring out what to break this lock with. Then I remember there's a janitor's closet not too far from here, so I pick the bar back up and look out the door, there is 3 zombies shuffling around outside there, the other 4 are nowhere to be found. I unlock the door, and one of the zombies acknowledge the click with a moan, and I step down the stairs, waiting. It's a push door, no door knobs or anything like that, so they open the door with ease. I wait at the bottom of the stairs, and when the first zombie gets in range, I swing.

The bar makes contact with the head of the zombie, but only breaks it's jaw, making the zombie fall over due to their lack of coordination. The next zombie I swing again and this time I hit the neck, breaking it. That one falls over onto the other zombie, who was getting up, and he goes down again. The third, I swing again at the head, and I hit the ear and that whole side of the head smushes in, killing the zombie. The first zombie, with the broken jaw, gets up now, I swing at its head and, with my lack of skill at swing big metal bars like staffs, I miss. I recover, and go to swing again, but he's too close. I push him back and take another swing, hitting the jaw, but also that entire side of his head, it snaps the neck and he goes down.








There it is so far, that's just 2 pages out of the 7 I have. I will update when I'm damn good and ready to.

guys, I am sorry to say, but I had to reinstall my Windows and this story was lost. It might as well have been a good thing because the climax was all at the start, so...yeah.
