Comments on New Layout

Still working out some things. I need to finish all the buttons, such as "post reply, new topic." And for those with a high resolution monitor I need to make the background bigger. I am also working a bit on the chatbox (not that anyone uses it anyway )

Post with some comments, or just vote.

Edit: Will also be changing the name color of certain groups. The Banner and forum table (green box with all the categories) is also subject to change.

The green splatter on the bottom is a nice little effect.

everything look nice. i like the main menu and everything, but i just hate the white in here, its too bright ( keep the dark colors ), so i voted NO

It is cool but, it seems a little too blended if I could give criticism. Still this site looks great and the new feel is refreshing.

It looks great just that the white was a bit blinding at first.

EDIT: Also I notice that you have the color of the post alternate colors between white and light green

Its pretty cool but, could you fix the HOME FAQ row ithink it stuck out better before especially with THE SAFEHOUSE in red.

I like it just not the font color its hard to see

Pretty much the same as Sivy, I agree. I like pretty much everything, except the coloring. Everything is way to bright and hard to read (especially at the bottom of the home page with background interference). I'd say keep the layout, just revert back to the old colors. The black and purple work well.

Dude just look at the chatbox and think it is AWESOME. Once again continue the good work. I'll start using it more if others will.

So is the whole "white is too bright" thing something that you guys aren't used to? Or is it something that really needs to change. This is YOUR site, we don't get paid for this so I am going to try to adjust if you guys really don't like it. There's a lot of votes for "no" but you guys didn't reply.

Just like what most people said, its nice but it is to blinding at first when you enter the site.

Yeah the white is kind of annoyiong. Try fading it to a light grey instead of whtie, and keep finiking with it. Also, what are some of the image file sizes you are using, my computer seems to lag a lot on the website.

None of the pictures are anything big really. They pretty much are what you see. Most of them are .png's though, idk if that has anything to do with it, I can try to change some to jpegs.

Anything above 100kb is considered too big for website use. (It's ok that a few are, but beyond that it starts to add up. I know I have a sucky computer, but other people do too, and I thought I'd point that out.) In other words, What is the file size of the banner?

Also, I would say that the side bar and title is find, just change the backround posting from a white to a bit of of a grey.

Yea alright I'm going to do some downsizing on the images. The banner and the background are the largest, over 100k. I'll turn them into JPEGs, that cuts them in half pretty much. I'll do it tomorrow.

I voted yes. im pretty sure that the white isnt a big deal. just something we all gotta get used to. id say keep it as is for awhile and c if we get used to it.

But I would just like to point something out (in case no one noticed), but the text disappears when scrolled under the "green splat" at the bottom in the background. For example, look at the "watch topic for replies" area at the bottom of the last post of this thread, then scroll all the way down. You'll notice the text disappears as it enters the darker green area. The same is true for the "users online" at the home page.

Other than that the main "issues" imo are okay now. The rest will just take "getting used to" as you said. Great job on the redesign.

I like the colors alot better, along with the banner. The controller looks good but the brain on it looks too cartoony and stands out to much IMO.
Oh anf the brain thing when you move the curser over a topic makes it annoying to see IMO

Certainly, I "meatshield" will explain more...

It's hard to explain, but scroll the screen with the faded green text ("watch topic for replies" or a username, etc..) on top of the darker green "splat" background at the bottom of the page. I'm not talking about the text on the posts, but the background "clickable text". If you can see where the "watch topic for replies" or "stop watching topic" button is at the bottom right of the last post, move the screen (scroll) so it is under the "green splat". The other home page thing I was refering to is the users online, where it says "there are 13 users online, 6 registered, etc..." or something like that. All of the usernames (that are not the veteran green or admin blue) disappear when under the "splat" too.

I hope this explains it because I have no idea how else to describe it.

Alright, once the last couple of quick fixes are done, this site will be finished, and looking as professional and expertly made as ever. Seriously, this is some good work.

I'm loving it so far but as others have said I kinda miss the darkness I'm afraid of the bright light.

Nice job deadape, i really like the banner and whole new layout, its really cool
