New UX Forza Racing Rewards System

Post  eaustinn36 on 5th October 2010, 7:01 pm

Okay, in sum this is going to be a complete overhaul.

**NOTE: These changes will take effect from event #7 and on, so event 6 and before still use the old system.

Starting with event 7, there is no more "choose out of 3 cars" thing. The new reward system involves credits now, and updating your garage (more on this later). The summary is below:

- At the end of every race, "credits" will be awarded based on your finishing position. A total of 300,000 CR will be given out each event, and therefore 100,000 CR per race (3 races per event). The highest anyone can get in one event is 150,000 CR (if won all 3 races). The prize amounts are as follows:

1st - 50,000 CR
2nd - 25,000 CR
3rd - 10,000 CR
4th - 5,000 CR
5th - 4,000 CR
6th - 3,000 CR
7th - 2,000 CR
8th - 1,000 CR

The credit amounts will also be placed next to the finishing position at the end of each event in case you forget (where I post the results of each race; check the event 7 or 8 topic to see the layout).

**You will only get awarded credits if you finish and don't get a DNF!! This shows you have made an effort to race, rather than sit back and take your 1,000 CR prize. The "end-race timer" will be set on 5 minutes, so there is no excuse not to finish. However, if there is an extremely bad wreck where your car cannot continue, I may make some exceptions.

**If we don't have a full lobby, the credits will simply spill over to the 1st position. So for example, if only 6 people show up, 1st place will get 53,000 CR, and 6th will get 3,000 CR. Remember the event won't be held if under 5 people show (5-8 required).

**Credits can carry over events!! If you make 80,000 CR at the conclusion of one event, you don't have to instantly spend it. You can save up, and eventually purchase a car in the dealership when ready (more on this later).

**These are solely reward cars. There is no "career progression". You do NOT need to have purchased a car here to use it in events.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, how to keep track of all this? This is where your garage comes in (remember that?). Just like in the good old gta4 races, you are required to update your garage (and by garage I mean total credits). However, you should leave the rest of the garage as is, just in case gta4 races return. Please use my garage as an example; a link is below:

http://undead-xbox.forumotion.com/the-garage-f32/eaustinn-s-garage-t4301.htm

And just like always, if I find you are cheating by altering your credits, your entire "credit amount" will be reset to 0, and you might be suspended from future events. DO NOT DO THIS!!

If you have not already created a new garage, now is the time.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, as I said before, credits can build up. So where to go when your all set to buy something? The dealership section (remember that too?). There, you will find a Forza Dealership topic. The rules are similar to the gta4 purchase rules: Post the car you want to buy, the price of the car, your credits before, and your credits after (don't forget to update your garage!!). I will be checking the topic frequently, so if you claim a car, expect it "gifted" to your profile soon.

It is also important to note that only stock vehicles will be available for claiming. The prizes include any of the nearly 500 cars in the game (but you have to have the credits!!). Note that I will use the stock in-game season play price for each car. So (for example), a Jaguar XJ220 costs 190,000 CR in game, in which is what you need to buy it. Auction house prices don't count!!

Make sure you state the vehicle exactly as it is spelled in game (including the year made). I need to know exactly which car you want.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The reason for this overhaul is to make things more interesting, more fair, and more fun. Even last place finishers can win a car now (and it's easier on me financially Wink ).

Don't forget to update your garage often, check the dealership, and keep updated on events!

Happy racing. Smile

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT:

NEW PROPOSAL

You don't have to update your own garage if you don't want to (I guess idc either way). You can just never claim or get any reward cars then, since you'll be stuck at your "un-updated" 0 CR.

In fact, I like this solution. If someone is going to be too lazy to spend 10 seconds, once per week, to update one number... then i'm not going to take the personal expense to reward you.

Also to note: All of the people signed up with UX Forza Racing who already have a garage set up will have the word "FORZA" in brackets next to your topic title, since we of course are [temporarily] more important than the gta4 garages. Wink

I also "bumped" them b/c for some reason it won't let me sticky Neutral

But seriously, it's not for you, it's for me (so I can find your garage faster if I need to check something)

If you have not signed up for UX Forza Racing yet, remember to post under the "UX Racing on Forza 3" topic.

Cool avatar Snow.

These cars are reward cars only, not cars that you are forced to use throughout the events (there is no "career progression").

And as stated above, you get 1,000 CR for 8th place, or 3,000 CR for the event (if you get last every time). The credits carry over event to event. It may take awhile, but you'll eventually have enough to "purchase" the car you always wanted.

@Coggy - Yeah that's what happens when there is a massive overhaul. I've been planning it for awhile, but have only recently posted it up within an hour.

@Bladewind - How so?

Well if that's the case then why revert to the old system? That revolved around reward cars too...

This I believe is just a more efficent way of doing it.

If you really don't want the reward cars fine (i'll even update your garage for you if you want Neutral ). Your credits will just accumulate then.

By that i'm assuming you mean only 1 number that changes based on cars bought and races won? It's not like it is 13,334 CR.. they are all nice rounded numbers (like 2,000 CR).

As I said before, I can update your garage if you really want... it's not that hard.

(if you look in the "events" for event #7 and 8, you can see that your winnings are even listed there so you see how much you won).

It's not as complicated as you think.. (for me yes, but for everyone else no)

Re: New UX Forza Racing Rewards System

Well, just give it a chance first. Remember it doesn't go into effect until event 7. It is a lot to take in initially, but once you get into the routine, it's extremely easy.

It's actually based off of the "gta4" race setup, and look how many people created a garage for that. This is simpler. There is no keeping track of cars, race wins, or any of that stuff; just Forza credits. It's really simple:

Let's say you get in an event, 1st, then 3rd, then 2nd. That's a total of 85,000 CR (you'll remember the prize credits soon enough).

Simply edit your garage post, and add 85,000 CR, and click send. That's it.

As for buying a car, again, exactly same as the "gta4" races setup, only easier (no new and used car dealer). Just make a post with the 4 required things, and bam, you got the car (and edit your credits later).

It might take a little bit initially, but once you get the hang of it, it is literally a 10 second process.

Fine then. I'll update yours and bladewind's garage then for you (but if you want to redeem for a car, you still have to post in the dealership area). Don't even tell be that's too complicated...

Re: New UX Forza Racing Rewards System

Post  eaustinn36 on 9th October 2010, 6:51 pm

UPDATE: Alright, since i've still been getting a lot of complaints on this simple system (and a lot of facepalms) i've decided to clarify a few things.

- The only reson the first post is long is so I can cover every angle so there are no questions. I even included some examples so there is no confusion.

- The ONLY thing you have to do is the following. I'll use Tophat44 as an example (sry tophat):

After the event is complete, wait for me to post the results of the event (the results are under each event title). There will be a credit amount next to your name for each event, so there is no confusion.

At ANY TIME during the week before the next event (does NOT have to be immediately after the event is complete, but before the next one), go on the forums. From there go to the previous event and add up your credits (posted there for you). Then go to your "garage", and edit your post to update your credits. Unless you wish to buy a car, THAT'S IT!!

Now for the example:

Tophat44 attends an event. He gets 2nd, 3rd, and 2nd in the races. This means 25,000 + 10,000 + 25,000 = 60,000 CR total (again check the race results). Tophat44 doesn't feel like going on the forums after the race to update, and that's okay!! Sometime mid-week (thursday we'll say), tophat goes on. Luckily, tophat44 remember what place he finished (or not) and knows he gets 60,000 CR. As soon as the forums load, he goes to his garage, and edits his post to add 60,000 CR. He clicks "send". Your done!!

Simple right??

If you wish to purchase a car, go to the dealership and say the car you want, and you got it!!

Simple right??

I hope this clarification helps.

Because seriously guys, if this is still overly complex to you, then I am surprised that you know how to turn your computer on, type on a keyboard, eat, breathe, etc...

That is all.

(remember it goes into effect on event 7, NOT event 6)

  • Make people more motivated/competitive to win.
  • Make your life easier.
  • Make are lives easier too.

Proposal Flaws

- Events are already mini-tournaments (sort of). 3 races total that that reward credits based on your finishing position. The better you do in each race, the more credits you receive. I think I know where you're going with it though, but again, it would make it even more complicated.

- In-game credits are extremely complicated to transfer between profiles. The only way involves the other person buying a cheap car, and uploading it into the auction house for a high proce. Then I buy that car for the rediculous price. You can also just sell the cars, but they lose half the value. So in all, I lose more money than I should, and it's 10x more complicated. Sending cars only.

- A car that I choose? Well that seems backwards. What if the person doesn't want that car? This makes it better for you guys. Enough said.

- More motivated? I'm offering huge incentives at my (not the games) personal expense. Why, i'm offended.

- It's easier this way for me. Before, after each event, I would have to wait for everyone to claim their car. And when they don't... I have to send pm's and nagg on xbl so they do. Now, everything can be claimed, updated, etc.. on your own time, ANY time. No more strict schedule. That is easier.

- Again, it makes my life, and YOURS easier (unless you've never been winning and have never claimed any "cars" yet, but hey, a little extra work, and now everyone's rewarded.

- Not sure what you mean, but for me, there is NEVER a profit.

And Black Snow, if you don't like the system (of all people), that's fine. If I recall correctly, you are banned for the auction house/ gift cars. Therefore, you can't recieve any prizes anyways. You don't have to update your garage if you don't want to.

Well if they don't want a free car with effort which they can sell for money, their problem.

You save money. We get closer races.

Here is a scenario:
Tophat place top in most races and has the most points at the end of the race. The reward car automatically goes to him since there it only goes to the winner.
