GTA 4 Cop War: The Exodus Gametype
So I've been coming up with a game variant for a cop war in GTA 4 free mode. It is called The Exodus for a reason; basically, the players start at the old mansion in northern Alderny, and have to fight the law enforcement all the way down to the bowling alley in southern Broker. There are assigned classes given out by the person in charge. So DON'T think you'll be picking your own class. Classes add to the structure and strategy of the game which is why I put them in.
CLASSES
Soldier: The soldiers job is to be the bulk of the group and supply the most firepower to keep the police at bay.
Count: 1-3
-Assault Rifle
-Pistol
-Grenades
Scout: The scouts job is to cover the rear end of the group as they retreat into close quarter areas like buildings and alleyways.
Count: 1-3
-SMG
-Shotgun
-Molotovs
-Pistol (NO DESERT EAGLE)
Anti-Vehicle: It is his/her job to keep helicopters off of the group and occasionally blow up a NOOSE truck or two.
Count: 1
-RPG7
-Shotgun
-Grenades
-Pistol (NO DESERT EAGLE)
Marksman: It is his job, when defending, to find an area that gives him a good shot at the advancing police. To "thin them out" before they reach the other players.
Count: 1
-Sniper
-Pistol
-Molotovs
RULES
Classes can use any variant of the type of gun specified, unless stated that they can not use a certain gun.
Players are expected to follow every order the leader gives them. If you can't, don't bother playing. However leaders are encouraged to think for the group, not just themselves. Like if you need ammo, don't leave your group behind and go get it, keep heading towards the objective as a group and pick some up on the way.
Do not leave the Alderny mansion until each player has 2 stars or above.
Vehicles - Do not use vehicles to drive the whole way, that is just plain boring. Sure you can park them in a barricade to hold a position, or even use them to transport a short distance, like through the underwater tunnel, but try to get out ASAP, like pulling in an alleyway and letting everyone out.
NO FREAKING HELICOPTERS. The only reason you would be in a helicopter is if you want to watch your guys after you had died. OTHERWISE, NADA.
You get 1 life. Once you die, you're dead. Going back into action is completely not an option.
You are allowed to pick up ammo, just don't leave the group to do so. If you need ammo just say "Hey, I'm running low." The squad leader should start heading the group towards the next gun to get ammo. A soldier without ammo is a weak link, and should get his ammo ASAP.
I will leave picking up health and armor for the Leader in the game to decide.
Once everybody (alive) is in the bowling alley, you win.
THIS GAME HAS NOT BEEN TESTED YET AND MAY CONTAIN SOME FLAWS.

Sounds pretty fun, but going all the way from Alderny to Broker mostly on foot while being attacked by cops seems like a tough goal.

We used to do this without set classes and its almost impossible, we called it "The Crucible"

And if you minimize the time you are out in the open, like alleyways or a bit of subway here and there, it increases your chances of making it dramatically.

I mean, I can't even think of a time where I walked as far as Northern Algonquin to Southern Algonquin in single player, and that was using GTA-555-0100. Although, I was also using manual aiming, which I think would be much more fun for the game type than allowing auto aim.
Whatever way it goes, I'm definitely down for this. Sounds great.

We've done it with five people, starting at a dock in northeast Alderney and going on foot to the radio tower at the airport.
Three survived until Broker, and only one made it to the tower.
