History of Königsegg

Post  eaustinn36 on 27th February 2012, 4:34 pm

An amazing history of the car and company, in how they started off from nothing in the mid-90's, to become a world recognized brand in under a decade. Today, they hold the record for the 2nd fastest production vehicle.

Enjoy!

Koenigsegg is an atonishing company and this was a very very fun video to watch, TY eaustinn

But I am amazed how Lamborghini needs a V12 engine to go 217 mph
Bugatti needs a quad turbo charged W16 engine to go 268 mph
While Koenigsegg makes do with a suprcharged V8 to go 260 mph (and thats with a huge spoiler on the back!)

This Car is amazing and only one other company has had such recent succes as Koenigsegg and that would be Pagani (who doesnt make their own engines)
Koenigsegg in a sort of funny way makes Sweden look like its dominating for car production with all the records it has broken, this single company is able to beat any American, British, Italian, Japanese, or French car ever built. The only car it hasnt beat is a 1200 BHP W16, German, aerodynamic monster.

The one bad note of this car is that as mentioned in the above video, Koenigseggs are ridiculously stiff, this makes them hard to control, which is why they have a huge wing on the back now called the "Topgear Wing" after the Stig crashed a CCX on the testtrack becuase this car can just lose control with how stiff it is.

P.S. The Agera is soooooo sexy!!!

And the 9ff GT9-R uses a 4.0L Flat 6 to also go 260mph Wink

@Jag - You and your tanks... lol.

@Lambo - Although they have not proven it yet (no track to test it on), i'm pretty sure it can. The regular GT9 did a proven 254mph, and that was with 987bhp. The GT9-R has 1120bhp (crapload more), and the company claims speeds of around 260mph, in which, given the proven stats of the regular GT9, is perfectly reasonable (an understatement if anything).
