2012 Nissan GT-R vs. 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S
A competition between one of Porsche's upper-mid performance models, and Nissan's top of the line machine. Both cars are virtually neck and neck the entire time. On paper, each car is better than the other in different ways, but what is the best in this incidence? Let's find out.
EDIT: On a semi-related video, we have a drag race, but I think the GTR is one model year different.

I'll take the one that costs half the price at the cost of .3 seconds on the 1 mile.

Re: 2012 Nissan GT-R vs. 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S
Fail troll is fail.
For starters, everyone with a basic knowledge of drag racing will know an AWD will lose to RWD.
Then there is price which is the big key factor. With the price of that Porsche I can buy a GTR and get after market manifolds and turbos for it. Thus making up a lot or I can get an aftermarket parts overall to make it better on the track.
Lesson of the day:
Don't try to argue cars with a tuner when he can buy a cheaper car and make it better at a lower price/ same price.

Re: 2012 Nissan GT-R vs. 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S
First off: not trolling; your trolling this thread if anyone. This is just showing 2 greats cars that are virtually evenly matched.
Second: you fail. The 911 turbo models are all AWD, so this was a comparison of AWD vs. AWD.
Third: You pay for what you get. Look up Porsche's profit margins, and then Nissans, you'll find barely any difference. The reason your paying more for a Porsche is you are getting more quality. Porsche uses higher quality parts, and their cars are built to last. Porsche is also known to achieve perfect "fit and finish" marks on all of their models; Nissan, not so much, even on the GTR line. Cars aren't just about "0-60, top speed, and grip". There are also other quality factors that make a car solid. Porsche could easily lose all the high quality materials in their cars, and drop the price in half, but that would screw over their reputation. Look at Volkwagen for example: To be more competitive in the US, the new "Jetta" lines are dramatically cheapened to sell more. Most people wouldn't notice a difference, but professional car reviews could immediately see the build quality dropped a lot to cut cost. Not to mention newer Porsche's are extremely reliable (not saying Nissans aren't). If you also look at overall "customer satisfaction" ratings, Porsche's are near 100%, Nissan not so much.
I'm not saying Nissan's are bad cars, especially the GTR, as it is Japan's best by far. Just don't pretend Porsche's are overpriced, as you pay for what you get. You want overpriced buy a Lambo or Ferrari.

Re: 2012 Nissan GT-R vs. 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S
so if they are virtually the same for performance
then the cost comes into effect
and dont even try to justify quality to your price mark it just means that instead of having regular leather you have what snake skin
the nissan GTR is a car that many people will prefer over a Porsche due to its performance to cost ratio not because sir Richard Branson's nuts has touched the seat
even if you dont think the gtr is awesome it always come down to what people like
besides NON of us have ever driven any of these cars
we could probs talk stats till the cows come home but why. stats are stats we need to try these cars in order to understand them
closest way would be video games and im pretty sure a gtr is faster than a porche

Also, "Nissan's U.S. dealers sold only 877 of the supercars in 2010, compared with 1,534 in 2009, the company said in a year-end statement. GT-R sales in December were only 38 units, compared with 119 the previous year.
U.S. sales of the Nissan GT-R plunged last year to fewer than 1,000 units." ( http://www.insideline.com/nissan/gt-r/2012/2012-nissan-gt-r-order-guide-revealed.html )
Meanwhile, Porsche sales are increasing in the US over time.
GTR sales are declining, Porsche's are growing. I think it is clear that most Americans prefer one over the other; and I also highly doubt "snake skin" (if even used) double a cars price.

Now Erik is gonna try to rig this thread from the start as just another way to point out that porsche is "the ultimate driving machine". He has a bias on his thread from the start everywhere but says he doesnt watch topgear because "its bias" well Erik you are too and I feel you need to just give the GTR a chance cause this new powerboosted version is going to push sales up again

Never said the GTR is bad. It is Japan's, and Asia's best. It is a very respectable car, and if you watched the video, they are practically even. It's not like one car dominated over the other, and the vid is not bias in anyway.
Re: 2012 Nissan GT-R vs. 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S
Not saying the vid is bias i'm saying you are. I can just see you in the back of your apartment with your laptop open thinking "Oh yah uh uh uh uh uh yah Lamboman i want your milkshakes" and how you just totally posted another vid to show how porsche is better than everyone else.

I'm Bias?
Yes, I am. We ALL are, at least a little bit. There's no denying it.
Milkshakes?
Better than others?
Again, watch the vid. The results were pretty much even.

I Do respect your opinion erik and you know what milkshakes means but what i am prying at here is that i think you set up this comparison to try to prove in yet another way why you think porsche is best in this comparison by bringing up more fact and figures. Bu tin the end these two cars come down to preference. i prefer the GTR but i wouldnt buy the turbo s porsche to start with, its not my favorite porsche by any meanseaustinn36 wrote:lamboman1342 wrote:

Yes I am Bias towards lamborghinis but like austin said we are all bias i agree with him there it is good to be bias in some ways.
Re: 2012 Nissan GT-R vs. 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S
That's tantamount to calling someone out on a political bias, and then being biased yourself. Can't have your cake and eat it too.

Hey dude first off i'm fifteen and dont want to argue about political anything, and secondly i'm not trying to shut anyone off if you hadnt realized i got myself stuck between a rock and a hard place in this thread and now i dont know what to say. So i'm going to say my side with this "I prefer the GTR over the porsche being that the 911 turbo is not my fav porsche and everyone is bias in their own wayJagdgeschwader wrote:That's tantamount to calling someone out on a political bias, and then being biased yourself.
