ANNOUNCEMENT: The Arena

Think you’re hot shit, don’t you? Think you can kick everyone’s ass at videogames? Step into the arena and prove your meddle.

The Arena is a new section of Undead Xbox completely off limits to pussies and wimps. You challenge players to official matches on virtually any game with designated rules, times, and restrictions. Your total number of wins and losses are tracked through a Google Docs Leaderboard that will be public for everyone to see. At the end of every month, the person with the most wins is crowned CHAMPION OF THE MONTH and will receive a kickass medal.
A challenge can be submitted to either a specific person (CALLOUT) or to anyone (OPEN CHALLENGE).

For example, let’s say I want to thrash DeadApe at MvC2:
Topic Title: CALLOUT: DeadApe, Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

Or, if I don’t care who’s ass I kick:
OPEN CHALLENGE: Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

For now, these are specifically singles brackets, but you can play team games. If there’s enough interest for the system we will implement a specific team bracket. As it is, if one team beats another, then all players on the winning team receive a WIN and all players on the losing team receive a LOSS. In the future we may allow you to sign up specific teams and then that team will be awarded a WIN or LOSS. For example, if Team Staff (Meatshield, SMK, Westhybrid) goes against Team Homo (Sgt Zombie, Vrazzle Meister, FoundDa Kiwi), and wins, then Team Staff would be awarded a single win; the players on the team would not be awarded anything.

So what if you want the stakes to be a little higher? You can play a Hell Match. Hell Matches are games with consequences to the losing player. Example: The losing player is banned from the forums for three days following the loss.

As always, there will be a specific format outlined in a sticky in The Arena section. More details coming. Expect The Arena to be up in the next couple days. LIVE AND LET DIE

This sounds amazing actually. I love how i can make a hell match. Having something like this is defiantly going to help.


Question though, are you replacing the current leaderboard with this or making a second one? Just curious due to the zombie night situation.

This will be a completely separate leaderboard. The zombie night achievements leaderboard will remain in its usual place as normal.

You'll see the changes once it goes live in a few days.

Downhill wheelchair race? Sounds like we got ourselves the first UXTV video. Im in.

Arena currently up and running. Need to post a thread about how it works as well as do some other things. But I'm running out in a bit and the categories are there in case anyone wants to use them today to get a head start on the leaderboards.
