E-74 Error.


I'll see how long it takes before I get another one, I have no warranty but a friend told me Xbox does it for free so I'll see what happens.

I'm not sure if they do it for free, but you might have to pay 100 bucks for it. Not entirely sure. Or you could go out and get an Elite, anyways hope to see you online soon.

That really sucks. Hopefully this place wont go to hell. Whatever you do, please get it fixed/replaced/steal one soon. Dont sit on a broken one like some people do.

Yeah Fattyboy brought it to my attention that time might be the best healer, because he reminded me of those crazy blue disco ball reflections I was seeing in GTA, and said things like that are often warning signs for a chip overheating, so maybe I just need to give my box a break.

Anyways, I'll have a xbox very soon, I'm sure as hell not gonna not play xbox.

E74: I/O Hardware Error - HSIO related, could be crc error, or many things: There is high chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip near the AV cable connection) it can also be caused by a faulty AV cable so check that first. Microsoft covers this error under their 3-year warranty, this is availble to anyone who hasn't modified their console. contact MS to get a free replacement console before attempting to fix this yourself. Failing that this error In some cases it is a problem with the GPU and may be repairable by doing the x-clamp replacement

If it's just a one or two lights flashing then you can just say it's the Red Ring of Death, they never check to see if it's true. That's how I got mine repaired for free, honestly though, why should I pay for their system fuck up?

Now if I poured water on the system and it malfunctioned that's when I should be charged.

Anyway, I hope you get it fixed but if you're a person that doesn't like "stealing" than don't pay attention to the above advice.

tell microsft you have to red ring of death and the e73 error and they will replace it for free becuse they just extended the warrenty for 3 years for the red ring and e73 error

Yep namorgs right you could try the x clamp or other methods to fix it however this would void your warranty however my dad fixed it but then accidently attempted the second time and crushed the chip so I had to get newer one then it happened again good thing this time he bought a warranty and turned it into gamestop for a brand new one. But yeah the warranty covers e74 are you sure your warrantys gone well anyways goodluck cry.

drill some holes in it for better airflow

Yeah dude I searched Youtube and there is a couple of video's that shows you where to drills hole at in your metal inner shell for better air intake.

Ok I'm not going to drill holes in my xbox. xD

And its laying down, so the disc spins evenly like its supposed to.

A simple trick that can fix pretty much any problem with your console.

1) Unscrew the top under where the memory hard drive is.

2) Take a regular bottle of dish wash soap and pour the whole thing into it. When you are pouring it, make sure to turn it counter clockwise every 7 seconds, to make sure that the soap really gets in there.

3)Now that the soap is hardening, it will fill the cracks that are making the xbox malfunction. While this is happening, pick your xbox up above your head and smash it as hard as you fucking can into the wall adjacent to the television.

4) Now if you did it right, your xbox will stand up and get back into place and plug itself into the wall, good as new!

*Warning* There is a slight chance this will not work. If it does not then you need to buy a new xbox.

i got that 1 day after u, but i bought a new one cuz my 3yr warranty was up :'(
