Unreleased Jimi Hendrix album coming out next tuesday

My heart missed a beat when I heard the news. Hendrix was such a mastermind, and now, after 40 years of his death a new album is coming out? I just can not see why it's coming out now. My guess is he was having some kind of Axl Rose syndrome, and didn't believe in his album and didn't want to release it, and because he died no one could do anything about it really. And I guess after 40 years the copyrights on the album expired or something, and now they are allowed to release it. Or something by those lines. That's not the official story (well, there is no official story, they just suddenly announced a new album) but that's the only reasonable speculation I could think of. Here's an article:
