Sports fans

c'mon there gotta be some sports fans around here. Baseball is just beginning, college basketball ended with a great National Championship game, Hockey and the NBA are getting into playoff mode. Who ya got?

Yea I like sports. I mostly watch Pro Football but I also enjoy basketball and baseball. I like the Dallas Cowboys, the Celtics and Spurs, and the LA Dodgers.

Only sport I follow is soccer (aka "football" as it is rightfully called everywhere in the world except the USA). The FIFA world cup is this summer in South Africa..

Oh yea I forgot to put them but for college football I like the Texas Longhorns and for soccer I'd have to say Cruz Azul.

I don't watch soccer that much so I don't even really know the teams other then like Brazil etc. and really. you mostly pull for the college you grew up around.

Yeah, Brazil is a great team, but they havnt been doing good lately (maybe the South African heat will improve their game?). It's tough to say which team will win this year. I know the top 3 teams (based on wins) are Brazil, Italy, and Germany, but this is the first time an African Nation has hosted it; it might create a massive upset. Either way, i'm hoping Germany can pull through (you have no idea how pissed I was when they lost to Italy at the last second in 2006).

Also, tbh, I could care less about my college's basketball/football/etc.. teams lol!

Maybe that will change in the future though..

Americans can't play football or baseball. Their version of football has no ball, it's more like an egg. And that egg is passed on by throwing it with your hands, so why is it even called football?
And in baseball, the ball is supposed to be pitched upwards, not towards the batter.

And apparently it is called "football" because the ball is 1 foot long (at least that's what I was told).

But finn, does Finland have a football team? I havn't seen them in the FIFA world cup much.

Yeah we have a football team, but it's not a very succesfull one... Hockey is more of our thing.

But yeah lol you root for Portugal all you want (Germany owned them in FIFA world cup '06, in the 3rd place game). Italy's team since their win in '06 hasn't been doing that good (conflict within team I think?). Germany is going 2 own Very Happy

lol. but our version of baseball is pretty much like putting balls on your version of cricket. don't get me wrong I mean cricket is fun but there is no oh shit I almost died moments or that woulda fuckin hurt moments. I like the fast pitches and amazing triple plays.

True there are actually a couple Polish players on the German team.. they might retire though. A lot of the best teams (Brazil, Germany, Italy, etc..) are aging, and many are being replaced by a new generation of younger players. I know the main German goal keeper (Lehmann) retired after the Euro cup 2008.

I love football (american) i play it, watch it, live for it. It's the greatest sport out there, and i'm not a soccer fan at all, actually me and my friends call soccer players field fairies.

I also don't get why american football is called football but whatever it wouldn't be the first time america gave the world a giant middle finger *cough* metric system *cough* but thats what i love about america, we don't give a fuck
