I agree with some of the points. Especially the assaination one- there's no point what-so-ever. It's a shitty trade off- leave myself vulnerable for 5 seconds, and risk losing my kill in exchange for looking cool, when I could just give a simple backsmack. Bungie should take out the backsmack and replace it with the animated assassinations (the backsmack never really made sense anyways. I think they only left it in because they were nervous of what hardcore fans would say if they removed it). But they should make the animated assassinations a bit easier to do, such as increase the distance away you have to be to perform one.

I don't mind the single shot weapons but they should be more powerful. Hell it's even hard to get a kill with the grenade launcher. But they should have a medium to longe range weapon that resembles the BR. It would be nice if they had more variety in that range (is it just me or does it seem that Reach actually has less weapons than Halo 3?). The sniper did receive a badass upgrade though (it just feels more powerful, not sure exactly what they did).
And Bungie was high when they decided to make grenades do more damage. Seriously, that is my biggest gripe, and is something that is a must change. If anything they should have been toned down from Halo 3. Grenades always seem like the cheapest kills, it doesn't feel very satisfying to get a kill with them, and it is really frustrating when you get killed by them. Hell, my friend recently got an overkill just by chucking a few grenades into the enemy spawn. That's retarded.

As for the environments, I didn't have many complaints. It didn't seem like a big upgrade from Halo 3 for me (the most noticeable improvement in graphics is in the weapons, armor, and animations IMO), but still they didn't seem lacking. Swordbase is kind of bland, but Boneyard is purely awesome and probably my favorite big team battle map in the Halo Universe, and Outpost or whatever (the one that will be released on the beta soon) looks pretty awesome.

And the Armor abilites are pretty cool I thought. They aren't nearly as revolutionary as Bungie made them out to be, but they do make the gameplay more interesting. Sprint does kinda feel like it should be a basic option, but I don't really feel all that bothered that it's not. It doesn't completely make sense, but I don't think Bungie even has room on the button scheme to add a sprint option even if they wanted to. And I think the invisibility class is under powered, and needs to be improved to match the others. My favorite two classes are the jetpack and armor lock, both of which have a variety of uses. While I think Armor Lock is easily one of the best abilities, I wouldn't like to see it downgraded. Instead the other loadouts should be upgraded to match the greatness of Armor Lock.

Overall I'd say they made a number of improvements, but just have a few weak spots. Upgrade the weapon damage, downgrade grenades a lot, even out the armor abilities and take out the back smack, and this really will feel like a worthy sequel for me (even though the main thing I care about is the forge).

But you made some really good points Dead Ape, and I hope Bungie fixes these flaws.

Well all i have to say is assassinations are gay. I mean really look at Halo 3. If you were good enough you could get yourself out of a tight spot by ninja-ing someone now i dont even know. Assassinations take too much time, not to mention its way to easy to beat people down now. I've walked up to people and beat them down without even recieving any damage. Getting back to the dude above me, they should leave the "Backsmack" alone and keep them like they've been in every other Halo game. Really the only people that still play Halo are the ones that like it already. First it was the ridding of the BR, now this. Why the hell fix something that isnt broke. Bungie you cant please everyone, just stick to what made the game popular and fuck the rest.

Meh, the "assassinations" aren't necessary but, for the first time it could be pretty rewarding. After a while, though, having your few precious moments of movement stopped to do some ridiculous kill, seems annoying. I mean, you don't have to but, a one hit kill is a one hit kill. In Halo, shooting someone from behind is as effective as using the magnum. The guy does end up turning around, surprises you, and then gets his whole clip into your face.
I think it should be an option, ie: hold Left Bumper then attack from behind to initiate the cut scene. This just seems annoying.
Oh and Reach=Halo 3 mixed with maybe one or two elements from ODST. The rest is copy cat and Bungie being the ignorant ass holes they are.
I am going to get my Halo 2 and Halo CE working. If they updated that, I would buy it.

Excactly.Its meant to humiliate.Like teabagging.God.You guys cant do nothing but bitch about this.

But i do have to agree about the overpowerness of nades.Most of the time i just get killed by friggin nades.Well,not in boneyard but in swordbase and ...the other map.Powerhouse?

I think i wouldnt buy this game if there wouldnt be any custom games.Or invasion.Because custom games are awesome.
