The Bman Rpg

Hello everyone, I was messing with rpg maker 2003 and made a demo of the game I am releasing on April 1st called The Bman Rpg. This rpg follows our beloved bman as he goes on a mission from his mom and dad the king and queen of the land. His mission is to deliver milk to his grandmother through the dark forest and along the way he encounters many people and helps them out.

This is a demo and is not finished yet, in the full release I plan on making 4 areas at least filled with a plethora of missions and funny things and even secrets. The second area after the demo area will be Detroit, where you encounter some unfriendly juggalos who throw faygo and friends as well. I alos plan on expanding the demo area in the full game, with more missions and buildings and such.

How to play

Enter and the arrows keys control everything in this game, other actions are done by simply running into them such as doors and blocked off areas etc.

Click enter on everyone just incase they may have something to say which will initiate a quest.

If you have any suggestions or comments or if the game is not working, which it may not since this is the first time ive used rpg maker 2003 tell me.

How to start

Download the rar. of the game at this link or the one farther up, then make a folder called rpg or anything and extract/unzip the game their. After that double click the Rpg_Rt.exe and let it run. Remember to save your game often you may die, or just buy potions with the money you get from quests. You will know when the demo is over trust me.

Fattyboy me and meatshield cant get this to work. I downloaded the RTP. Keeps saying 2003 rtp not present.

So hard unless you use exploder all the time.

Whoever finishes it first and gives me a screenshot of the end will be put in as a character in the Detroit level.

I'll try this out later. Sound interesting.

Review:

- Enemies have too much HP in the beginning of the game, especially the guard. (Took 10 minutes to beat.)

- Weapons/Armor cannot be equipped when purchased. (Long sword, Bastard sword, Ring Mail Armor)

- The "Town" That you find the Queen's necklace in, is actually a well. Very confusing.

- The sprite for Old man greg's house is super small, looks like a little shoebox compared to the sprites for the castle and the shop.

- After completing the cemetery quest, I can't continue any farther. (The guard won't let me go to the dark woods.)

- The attack time is too long in fights, especially considering enemies can attack you over and over again when it's your turn.

Over all I thought it was pretty cool, it was just frustrating to get into fights.

Agree on most things except, after completing the cemetery quest you have to go directly south of it through the dungeon, NOT to the guard. I did the same thing, it was confusing but your not supposed to go there yet.

WARING: if you thought the other fights were hard, wait until you get to the dungeon. Complete all possible quests before you go. Go to the store and buy a ton of high health potions (Normal health potions are worthless since you lose health so quick. Also go to the menu screen (esc) and equip your club and armor that you get from one of the quests (dont bother buying any weapons or armor because your too low a level to put them on.) Also buy lots of mana potions since exploder is your most powerful attack and can actually kill enemies pretty quickly.

Exactly , I will balance it and make it less confusing and I have new tilesets so I can replace old man gerqs house and make it bigger. The weapons are meant for the full game except for the lower level ones, although you could go to the dungeon and keep leveling up but theres no point as of now. I will give bman more abilities to start with or balance his stats or I could just nerf some enemies but I made it so people did not complete the demo too quickly, also to add challenge to it.

Yeah, I went to the dungeon door directly south of the Cemetery, and it said that I couldn't go there yet. So I guess it's just broken for me.

The gate to the dungeon should open after you speak to old man gerq again.

I plan on releasing the full version of The Bman Rpg in several days. I redid the whole first part already with more missions and interactivity and such. I plan on making the rest of the games missions and areas by tuesday or wednesday, earlier if I feel like working all day on it. This game is a prequel to Eaglendias and shows how Bman becomes a god.

Double post, but anyway good news.I am very near completion, it should take no more than a day or so. I have a dilemma though, would you guys rather me release it on April fools day with more secrets and improvements. Or release the whole game as it is in the next couple of days?

Release a small teaser that only takes a few min to complete on april fools. Then finish it in the next few days.

Id advise to wait for the full and better version, the links I have up now are the old demo.
