Modern Warfare 3 and COD: Elite

Because it was bound to happen.

Over the last few days, details have leaked on what seems to be Modern Warfare 3 including the label on the game. It seems too that according to the rumor mill, whatever was left of Infinity Ward did NOT work on the game and it was a two team effort: Sledgehammer and Raven Software. Now, this is rumored, so take the vitality of that claim with a grain of salt.

Treyarch has not been working on Modern Warfare 3, instead a sequel to Black Ops, that's supposed to be released sometime in 2012. I guess Activision wants a Call Of Duty game out every year, huh?

Anyway, here are some details.

• Releases November 8, 2011.
  
• Huge battles take place in New York, London and Paris.
  
• Story will tie up loose ends from previous games, and feature the "final moments" of key characters.
  
• Takes place moments after Modern Warfare 2 and is set around the world, with players taking on the roles of a Russian Federal Protective Services agent, SAS Operative, tank gunner, and AC-130 gunner as well as various main characters.
  
• Story takes place over 15 chapters, starting with a Russian invasion of Manhattan and ending in Dubai.
  
• Two new characters will debut, Frost and Sandman, members of Delta Force.
  
• Two new Spec Ops modes -- Survival and Mission

Call Of Duty: Elite was another image that was leaked. Now from what I've read, this looks to be a service akin to something like Halo: Waypoint. A few game websites are theorizing that COD: Elite is actually Project Beachead.

Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg briefly mentioned Beachhead during the earnings call Monday, stating that the company had formed a new development studio to work on an "all new connected digital universe for the Call of Duty franchise." While it's just speculation, I'm fairly confident in stating that "Call of Duty: Elite" is actually Project Beachhead. There's few details at the moment, but Hirshberg made the project out to sound like an online service.

All Call Of Duty games since CoD 3 have been released in early November.

As much as I ended up hating the MW2 multiplayer I am excited to find out what happens to Soap and Price. In the end I think I'll rent this for the single player.

Until Activision decides to include DRM that binds your gamertag to the game, so that no one can rent or buy their games used anymore.

Not too far fetched, some companies are already doing it.

Might buy just because I still enjoy MW2. But more info is defiantly needed in order to make a better decision.

Not people committing suicide, that's for sure. They shoot themselves in the head. Like Infinity Ward. I mean, who do they think they are asking to get "paid". What's this "pay" they're talking about?

A load a bullcrap. Everyone knows Activision did all the work. Therefore, they should just get everything.

I don't know exactly what your referring to but if you mean the online access code to play online then yes, it is already being used, from what I've seen the EA Sports games. but that wouldn't stop people from being able to buy used, just not having online access unless they paid $10 to Marketplace for their online access. total BS.

anyways what DeadApe said, the game itself has gone bad but I look forward to seeing how the story unwinds and how they end up in what seems to be every single country of the world. knowing CoD though 75% of it is going to be in-game dramatic cut scenes

I was referring to Steam. They bind every game to your account. Makes some sense on digital purchases, but physical purchases of their games are binded to your account too. Only way to buy steam games used, is to buy the entire steam account with those games.

This is something we can all agree on, Bf3 will get my buy, not mw3.

One of the reasons I might be getting BF3 is because some of the missions take place in Iran. So I can't wait to kill my own people.
