Favourite games and why?

Ok so, im wondering what is your guys favourite game(s)
Name the game and why.
My fav would be Assasins creed (the series) for single player.Also probaly for multi-player gtaiv or CoD black ops.

Ironic.

You even named the thread "favorite game and why" but only posted the names for the games with no reason yourself.

Anyway, from current gen, my biggest favorite still has to be Mirror's Edge. The audio and visual design is just absolutely stunning, and the gameplay mechanics were executed perfectly. All it needed was a map editor, or at least a lot more areas to explore and maps to compete in.

I'm deciding between Fallout 3 and NewVegas, not putting down Fallout 1&2, but 3 & NV are my favorites.

Fallout 3 had a really great feeling, a sense of hopelessness, where water was scarce and raiders had pillaged community's when they had wanted to, people were dying of starvation left and right, and murder and torture was an everyday experience

But NewVegas, has more backstory, but had a wierd feeling, like everything was alright, people were living, getting drunk in the NewVegas Strip and getting laid at Gomorrah.Not saying torture and death weren't an everyday experience (Legion's favorite things to do), but the game seemed more cheerful.

So until the new DLC's for NewVegas come out, i'll have to say that Fallout 3 is my favorite game.

Wasn't that the whole point of the game? Showing how the government was building back up again, and while restricting and hiding many things from the citizens, overall things seem to be better, leaving it to the player to decide who are the good guys, if any?

Mine would definately be GTA4 hands down. I may not play it to much anymore, but that's because I completely overplayed it in the past, and beat the game in every way possible multiple times.

GTA4 was the entire reason I even bought my xbox360 to begin with, so as for the "why", nuff said.

Favorite game will always be Il2: 1946

Of course they butchered it for the console by taking away the '300 flyable aircraft' feature and replacing it with 12 or something, took away the 40 or so dynamic campaigns and the map editor, but that's why I don't have it for the console.

Pretty much I love it because it's the gold standard of WWII flight simulators with the ability to be hyper-realistic or casual (possible in options for the game) and just how much is available with the game when it is released. With mods from the community, the game lives on tenfold.

Just kind of wish flight simulators were still the most popular type of game.

I am solely a console gamer, so don't judge me when I say that my favorite game is Elder Scrolls V Oblivion. Its the best RPG I've ever played plus it has a ridiculous amount of replay value un-matched by any console game today. It is my golden standard when it comes to RPG's, especially anything that Besthesda makes.

I agree that Oblivion was a great game, i played way too much of it, but i like the Fallout Universe much more, and plus, you gotta' put down the bow and arrow every now and then.

Oblivion was a good game. Have you played Morrowind, DeadApe? I know that some people seem to feel that they are somehow mutually exclusive, and that you must like one or the other.

Never played Morrowind, I hear that its like twice as good as Oblivion though.

And Apoc, I do really like the theme of Fallout, however as pretty much everyone on UX knows, I have an extreme dislike for Fallout 3 and NV.

My favorite of the ElderScrolls, well, until Skyrim comes out, then my favorite may change.

And i'd rather not push it, but why don't you like the Fallout games?

1. fable 3 or 2
2. gta iv
3. fallout new vegas

when LA noire comes out that will probaly get into my top 3 Very Happy

I agree, the Fallout Series are great, New Vegas is my favorite of them all.
But my top 3 favorite games are:
1: Oblivion Elder Scrolls 4, My favorite because its just a massive world, not even GTA4 can beat how huge it is, and so much stuff to do. One of the largest free roams ever made.
2:GTA4. Massive game, great campaign, good multiplayer, and the add ons
3:Tie between Mafia 2 and the COD series

I used to play IL-2 1946 every day on Hyperlobby, was one of my favorites until my computer crashed and I neglected to install it again.

As of now my favorite game of all platforms is ArmA II, all expansions. I'm obsessed with war simulators. The gameplay and graphics really improved from the first ArmA, and the online makes for some good times.

My console favorite will be Battlefield 3, for everything about it.

Yeah, I did hyperlobby for a little while as well, but I ended up modding the game so much that now it's only playable on single player, which is quite alright for me.

If I had the rig for it, I'd get ArmA II since it looks worlds better than ArmA I, but one day I may have the rig for it.

L4D, it's pretty bare on the xbox. But the PC version has much more to offer. A plethora of maps created by the community is enough to keep me entertained.

I still play L4D on expert for shit's 'n' gigs.
