E3 event 2011

In the next few days, once more information about times and streams has surfaced, I'll be hosting an E3 event where we can all watch E3 and discuss it together.

What's your preferred client to chat about E3 while watching it?

AIM, IRC, the chatbox, Ventrilo, XBL, what?

Personally, I believe a computer chat client would work best, but I'm interested to see what you have to say. I've had some pretty successful AIM conversations of this kind, but I know not everyone has AIM.

LOL I guess this is for you losers who can't get into the press conference like me.

seeing as i dont have a mic for my computer i say anything that is free and i can type on.

I have AIM (just created an account), and steam.
Either one of these I can do, and the chatbox of course.I also don't have a computer microphone until my trittons get fixed.

Maybe create a poll?

If we do text I'd rather do AIM.

I think aim is the best but not every1 has it and if im not mistaken its not available in the UK??



What about synchtube? We could replay trailers that go up.

I say steam because you can both use text and voice on it at the same time and i think most of the people here have steam.

For anyone who is suggesting a voice chat:

Live streams have group chat boxes because a group text chat is the most efficient way to have multiple people discuss what they are collectively watching without everyone talking over each other. It allows everyone to see what everyone else is saying, whereas having that many people commenting about the video in a voice chat would make it difficult to focus on both your fellow viewers and the video itself.

Just thought this needed to be said, because it's easy to think about this in terms of what's familiar rather than what's effective.

Then use tinychat.com, no need to sign up (except for one person I think).

As a rule, I'm against any sort of voice communication simply because people may be talking over the conference.

AIM so far seems like the best bet. I'll check out tinychat right now, black snow.
