What are you reading?
Since School started this year, I haven't had much time for books.
Reading list from August to now:
My Ántonia by Willa Cather - First book I've read for English class this year tells a boy who befriends a Bohemian girl in rural Nebraska in the late 1800s. It's good, but a little hard to get into.
One More Time: The Best of Mike Royko - It's an anthology of works from Pullitzer prize winning columinst Mike Royko. He's hilarious and a big advocate of the little guy.
Thirteen Days by Robert F. Kennedy - Robert Kennedy's memoir about the Cuban Missle Crisis. It's factual and interesting. It tells the Cuban Missile Crisis from his and President Kennedy's eyes.
Prayers for Sale by Sandra Dallas - Historical fiction about an old storyteller in a mining town during the Depression who befriends a new resident. The story is told in present and past: the old storyteller, Hennie Comfort, tells her stories to the young woman. It's a good book. I was recommended this book and I read it for a competition, but I recommend it nonetheless.
1945 by Robert Conroy - It's historical fiction again: what if the Japs hadn't surrendered in WWII and the Americans kept fighting on the Pacific front? Really interesting book, I recommend it.
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald - Second book I've read for English. It's a story about a modest-living Nick Carraway who befriends rich Gatsby and Gatsby's romance with Nick's cousin. I've been told it's one of the great American classics. It was pretty good; I don't have any complaints.
Charles and Emma by Deborah Heiligman - I'm reading this right now. It's a book about Charles Darwin's life with emphasis on his wife and the doubts that they shared as Darwin was skeptical of God and Emma was a devout Christian.

The Stand. I haven't really read it in a while but I hope I'll have some time to start it soon.
For Christmas I'm getting a ton of books including two by Hunter S. Thompson. I've always wanted to read his book Hell's Angels: The Strange and Terrible Saga of the Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs where he went undercover as a biker to write a piece for a magazine.

I've just finished reading, "To Kill a Mockingbird." It's a good read and quite interesting.
It's basically about a black man accused of raping a white girl, and racial inequality in the South during the Great Depression.

Yeah, it did inspire DragonBall (mostly in the very earliest of stories), but it's also considered one of the great classical novels of China. Just saying.
Anyway, right now I'm in-between books. I just finished "Escape From Hell", which is a sequel to "Inferno". They are a sort of sci-fi take on Dante's Inferno by two great sci-fi authors. I think I'm in the mood for some Stephen King next, possibly some of his short story collections. My other option right now would be "Perdido Street Station". And I still want to read the "A Song of Fire and Ice" series sometime. AND I still have to complete the Discworld series. So many books...mind asplode.

I hear A Song Of Ice And Fire is pretty good, it's getting made into an HBO series, I think. I've also always wanted to read Discoworld I've only heard good things about Terry Pratchet.

Im reading these posts right now
No but in all seriousness, aside from the morning Newspaper occasionally or online articles, pretty much nothing. Haven't had the free time to really tackle a book in awhile unfortunately.

Yeah, Discworld is a great series. There are quite a few books in the series, though.

Reading Brave New World currently. Somewhat depressing book, but it is interesting.
I might read Decline of the West next, 1984, or The Prince. Can't really choose...

Re: Whats good with reading UX!?
Currently reading the Dark Tower series. On the 3rd book right now. Damn good stuff. I generally dislike fantasy books, but the setting in this series is so different from any other fantasy books I've ever read, and I really like it.
Other than that, I mainly read biographies of musicians I like etc..
