England Riots
Any of you guys got an opinion on this crap? I mean, seriously, half the rioters dont even know what the f@ck they're rioting for. Which is kinda hypocritical, since three people have died because of the riots.

Re: England Riots
Huh, riots? These are street parties and the police are participating for better relations with citizens. Don't you see people with their beers and little bonfires?
Sadly, accidents happen, like the burning of public properties, yet these are acceptable losses for the invaluable rapport that strenghens community ties.

Swings and Roundabouts
Still, a few more days of this rioting and Manchester, Birmingham, London, will all have nothing left.

Shoot the rioters.
With love.
Most of the time rioters don't know what they're rioting for. They're just in it because they get to destroy shit with significantly less chances of consequences.
With the economy doing its thing here, I wouldn't be surprised if we see riots like this in the states within the decade. Possibly on a much greater scale.
With love.

Doubt that; Even though the economy here isn't exactly stable, it's much worse in the EU, from what I hear. But yeah, there might be a few minor ones on a smaller scale; Riots aren't unheard of in the U.S., you got that right.

Re: England Riots
I was talking to coggy bout this yesterday. Shame really; rioting for the sake of rioting. The whole point of protests is suppost to be an active way to call for change... not to be used as an excuse to destroy public property. In most cases it will just come arund and bite them in the ass later. Example: People protesting high unemployment levels; riots break out, destroy cars and businesses with violence When all is over, the only change will be higher unemployment levels because everyone destroyed the places they worked at. Violent riots never solve anything in the long run (unless of course you're going for a complete overthrow of govt, rather than protesting a minor incidence).

1. Europe is known for rioting. Americans aren't usually known to get into large scale violent riots like Europeans do. I mean... look how worked up they get over soccer games..
2. I disagree. 1st, the UK isn't part of the EU, so it wouldn't apply. 2nd, only certain countries in the EU are doing worse financially; namely Ireland, Greece, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. Other countries, such as France, Germany, and Switzerland, are actually in very good financial shape (far more than the US).
Re: England Riots
Riots are bad. Everyone find a weapon to protect yourself. Riots MIGHT happen in America eventually

Re: England Riots
The UK is opposed to EU policies being imposed in the UK, like the Euro currency being adopted or EU strictures of human rights having meaning above national judical decision (devaluing UK's individual identity), perhaps, but we are certainly members of the EU.eaustinn36 wrote:Courtyard Droll wrote:Jagdgeschwader wrote:Shoot the rioters.

As for riots in tthe United States, they definitely occur and I'd dare affirm they are awful. Example:

Re: England Riots
Yea, Limey the Rodney King Riots are definately comparable to the ones happening right now in England. Too bad the Brits don't have any way to defend themselves like the store owners (Korean ones) in the Rodney King Riots.

Re: England Riots
As far as I know, exception being Germany (who everyone wants to bail their own country out) Europe is on the brink of recession.
And these rioters don't know what they're rioting for. Hearing sound bites from them, one particularly said "It's to show the rich we can do what we want."
Is that what this is about? Class warfare? Give me a break.

It's actually France too surprisingly. Those 2 Euro nations are just economic powerhouses atm.
