What happened? Did he crash his car or something (that's my guess, since he appears to be a racecar driver. I actually haven't heard of him before)?

an Indy car driver, it was the Las Vegas season finale earlier today and there was a 15 car pile up which sent his car up into the fence, and later at the hospital he died.
he had just won the Indianapolis 500 back in May.
he was 33, and just had a second son last March, the other being born in 2009
