ARMA 2-3 Zombies?

I've been watching some arma 2 zombie missions and thought,
"gee wiz, once I get my laptop set up for gaming UX should get together to have some ZRP-esk games"

I don't think I'll be getting arma 2 mearly because arma 3 is coming next summer

Don't waste your time thinking that you're going to get a laptop that can even run Armed Assault 3 well. Or at all for that matter. My computer rates a 7.9 in every single aspect except data transfer, which it rates 7.0 and I'll only be able to run Armed Assault 3 smoothly on Normal, maybe High if not very many NPCs and the view distance is low. By the way, 7.9 is currently the highest score in the Windows index rating. I'm talking a 6 core processor @ 3.2 ghz, an NVIDIA 560 GTX, and 8GB of RAM.

On the topic though, I will be getting Armed Assault 3, but I also want to get ArmA II because I can run that game with flying colors. Playing online doesn't mean so much to me really. (Anybody that plays this game online is a master of realistic military simulators, and there is no room for anybody without an organization really.)

The zombie mod actually working for ArmA II was nothing short of a miracle really. The modding community was put forth with the challenge to mod zombies in when the games engine has absolutely no melee system whatsoever. It's simply not there. So the fact this even works in amazing.

On the topic of ZRP-esq games, Armed Assault actually has a fantastic system for making RP missions which have working economies and so forth. The problem is that making missions like this means having serious scripting knowledge in the Mission Editor, a powerful tool in this game, but one that only a few people have ever really mastered. ArmA in itself is a great sandbox game, but there lies the problem that only a few members on the site actually have the computer specs to run this game, so if we were to do anything widespread on ArmA, it'd probably be on the second which has fantastic graphics and attention to detail.

Ehhh my laptop could definitely run this game, or any other for that matter. If it can run advanced engineering simulators, i'm pretty sure it can handle it.

Not all laptops are bad you know (and the one I have now is about 3-4 times more powerful than my desktop)

What programs are you running on a laptop? Because ArmA is notorious for coming out and requiring a NASA computer to run well. You could run it on a laptop, just probably not well.

anyway, just did an analysis of my system and I just need a nice video card to have a drastically unenjoyable time in ArmA deus

though my RAM and OS are fine not to my surprise.

Desktops get the same result for far cheaper. Thousands even.

Anyway, if you're upgrading a computer, you might as well upgrade to recommended settings, not minimal. Minimal is no way to play a game. You'll be plagued with lag and low FPS constantly.

believe me I've tried playing arma on my current settings...

but after reviewing my options, I might as well just buy a whole new PC and keep this one for social networking and porn...

but seriously though, I'll keep this'n for day to day internet access and buy a new desk top

I remember somebody showing this type of stuff in a thread a couple months ago, around when I first joined. I might have to get this game for Christmas, it looks too cool.

But hey can we talk about the mod a little more? I watched some more videos on it and it looked like they had the whole melee mechanic down. This whole thing looks pretty sweet!

Yeah, it's pretty much a weapon with the range of about 15 inches, no sound and forces that animation whenever you fire it. It's a work-around, but it works.

ArmA zombies is fun as shit. I remember the good ole days of ArmA I in Quarantine Zone RP when we'd buy a UH60, get five guys or so in it, raid police stations for their armories, cramming as many guns in the helicopter as we could until we were one inch from disaster, then going back up to the roof and exfiltrating while zombies chased us up to the roof.

Defending bases from zombie attack...
Raiding bandits...
Flying a Cobra helicopter into the Quarantine Zone to assist mercenaries...
Saving random AIs in towns...

I posted or made a thread about this can't recall but me and garquin play zombies on this together as well as an amazing predator mod. When we get bored we just whip up another scenario very quickly with the editor which I can use and make things while he is in my servers lobby.The amount of potential is almost limitless and I am not even good at using the editor.

Predator mod adds playable predators and the ability to fly a predator dropship also a gatling gun for humans.
