Old Max: "Ah, let the poor soul be then, I know of Lothering. Pity, that. I once kicked a vicious hound into a ravine near Lothering, where it was dashed upon the rocks. Although, I was in a right fit that evening. It may have been a large opossum, or perhaps a discarded bundle of furs. I'll never live down the shame, being uncertain as to what exactly it was that I booted into the ravine..."

Take a sip of beverage.

Bruce: Wait for the halfman to open the hatch. If he fails due to it being locked, try to tear it off the hinges.

The hatch swings right open. There's a relatively dark space below, perhaps some sort of basement. It's a few feet deep, and you can't tell how far it goes horizontally. and there's no steps or ladder, though you doubt you wouldn't be able to climb back up if you went down.

Bruce: Grab the edge and lower yourself as much as you can before letting go.

Regal: Scour the tomes lined along your bookshelf for any knowledge as to what is sapping your power.

David: Grab one of the unlit candles and light it with the one on the table.

"Let's go greenie, down the hole to unknown peril."
