Internet randomly stopping?

Lately something has been pissing me off. My internet connection has a point where it randomly stops working for about 30 seconds, the turns back on and works again. At first it was only when I was on LIVE, but then yesterday it happened while I was filling out an online form. Go figure. At first I thought the wireless adapter on my xbox was overheating, but I don't believe thats the case. Today was the final straw for me, it stopped right in the middle of zombie r*******. So if this has happened to anyone who has a wireless internet connection, and has a solution, please respond. I need your help for my future zombie surviving future.

Internet can be real funky. There are periods of time where TIme Warner decides to do "maintenance" in my area and the internet will go down for long periods of time, sometimes for 3 days. If its at one of those maintenance times, my internet can be choppy like you said.

Try calling your internet provider and explain your situation. They might tell you what I just told you. If not you can try buying a new router, im almost positive its not over heating, never heard of that before, but it could it could be your router.

Yeah i had kinda same problems.Sudden disconnection from xbox live partys and games but i still remained signed in... Anyways,no more problems.It was the NAT(Network Address Transition or something like that.).Mine was not open.So just watched some youtube video and fixed it.

I don't have the exact same problem as you, as my internet completely shuts off, for no more than 30 seconds as of now. Although, it seems to happen after long periods of usage, (3-4 hours) when I'm on live. Thus, my assumption of something overheating seemed logical. It isn't the router itself though, because that wasn't even warm, and it's been on for weeks before.

Oh, and thanks DeadApe, I actually use Time Warner so I'll call them to see if they know a solution. Something tells me I'll be connected to some guy in India though.
