I'm fine with the edges, but there's awful lot of empty space on the left side of the picture, and because of that it doesn't align properly... Could you do something about that?

Its not transparent in the first place. Needs to be a .png to preserve transparency. If you want that image to have a transparent background you need cut it out and then save that layer as a .png.
