FIFA World Cup is ON!!

Japan destroyed Ivory Coast a few days ago, anyone see that game? I was at Canadas Wonderland at the time, watching it on a big screen tv at some restaurant, Japan's not doing too bad actually but their obviously a lot worse than Spain, etc.

Argentina will destroy Germany. one of the reasons germany won because England WAS supposed to get a goal but the referee did not add it on the scoreboard.

wow... i'm surprised how many people are still on the whole "non-counted" goal thing (in my neighborhood too).

Should the goal have counted? YES.

So big deal... the final score would've been 4 - 2 then, and last I checked that is still a domination. Besides, I don't know who in their right mind could argue that England played good out there; even the commentator from England said they were "playing like school children". Ask anyone non-hardcore England fan and they would agree, Germany played 100x better (with passing, ball control, etc..).

I respect other teams, but when they whine that they lost... I mean god England is getting worse in that than Italy. I don't know why many people still believe they are a powerful team though (no offense to any fans). They haven't been good since 1966; I don't think they've ever even made the semi's since.

The reason i'm saying all this was because this morning I saw a article in the paper that was so bias against that game, and completely focused on that one referee mess up. They even made the german goal sound like nothing; they were skilled...

I agree even though im from England it's stupid the way so many people put up England flags and claim to support their team but as soon as Germany score one goal they take the flags down and say how crap England is

Well, the round of 16 is done, and as everything moves into the quarterfinals, only 8 teams remain. Of the ones left, these are the ones I think have a shot at winning it:

- Spain
- Germany
- Brazil

I see no problem with Brazil being in the finals. As for the other bracet, it could be argentina, spain, or germany. I'm betting on a Brazil vs. Germany final.

i hope argentina makes it. messi is amazing and along with tevvez there is no stopping them. im also rooting for brazil cause they hurt chile really bad in that one match......

Somehow, this doesn't surprise me. Lota people I know want Germany out.

I think we can both agree though, that the semis between Germany v. Spain (unless there is a huge upset) will be the harder game. Whoever advances to the finals (hopefully Germany) will have no problem taking out the Netherlands or especially Uruguay.

The way I see it, either Germany or Spain is going to win it.

I agree with you. because if they both make it then they will face off and it will be an interesting match. But still.... good luck to both teams.

Spain for the win!

Well, Netherlands move onto the finals after defeating Uruguay. South America is officially out of it. Only teams left are European:

- Netherlands
- Spain
- Germany

One of these 3 teams will get the title. Germany and Spain play tomorrow for the other final spot, and Netherlands plays the winner.
