Yeah i have the first person mod and the zombie apocolypse mod, But I still prefer to play with you guys.

Take it from me, who mods the shit out of Fallout and is becoming a pretty avid PC gamer, modding is great, but it really is like an addiction (at least at first) because you've got to have this, then have this, then have this, then do this to the game settings, alter this, and really if you don't do it right, you can end up having a game that's either fucked up, or a completely different being than what you started with.

I've reinstalled Fallout 3 times now because I've either fucked it up beyond all recognition or have had it so modded it didn't look anything like New Vegas anymore. So while these mods are great and pretty quality work, it can actually end up destroying the experience if not done correctly.

Individual mods are pretty harmless, it's when you start stacking mod upon mod upon mod and then you have to have more because this isn't right, and then the game may not be fun anymore or like I said, just be fucked up.


Just an example here, I can't even play Fallout on the 360 anymore, I won't do it. lol, I don't have all my blood effects, combat armor-wielding NCR troops, 2024x2024 retextured weapons, zombies roaming the countryside, and an enhanced Las Vegas Strip.

Not to mention my personal realism mod which I crafted, which reduces gibbing and mutilation to only forces of extreme power (Grenades, shotgun blasts, rockets, W54 Mini Nukes from an FM-29 Nuclear Recoilless Rifle, etc) and renames all weapons and ammunition to their lore or real-life name, (10mm Pistol ---> N99 10mm Pistol) and ups the damage on practically every weapon in the game, which increases the usefulness of every weapon 5 fold.

Or do actual gunshots for small arms fire, grenades and what not suit your fancy?

I think you get the point by now, it's really easy to get carried away, and while I definitely don't use all of these mods, I do use a good portion of them. I haven't even gotten into weather mods or "New Lands" mods.


I do firmly believe though that modding shows developers what works for future titles, for instance, I think GTA V wouldn't do harm to the title if they allowed you to toggle between 1st person and 3rd person. As you saw with the GTA IV mod, you saw things immersion wise that we're just now starting to touch with FPSs like BF3, like getting thrown on the ground in first person, which is EXTREMELY cool.

Yeah, but these are pretty much the only ones I want right now. If I have to install the game again, so be it. It's not like it's made by Valve and Steam would somehow screw me out of it and force me to buy another copy.

Those are some nice mods, by the way. Since I haven't gotten Fallout: New Vegas on the 360 yet, I might just get it for the PC now. It's sounding pretty awesome to me.
