UXTV {NEW UPDATE 7/17/12}
Chances are most of you found out about this site through the videos we have on our Youtube Channel. It's our advertising on Youtube that has given the site a lot of it's member base today. Which got me thinking. What if we took our channel to the next level? Finally, we can make that happen.
UXTV. A project that will incorporate many different kinds of videos, for many different kinds of games.
What UXTV has the potential to be is a huge source of gaming videos. And not just about GTA IV zombies. The channel will be able to host gaming footage, fails, animations, reviews, walkthroughs, machinima, etc. The UX Podcast that I hope we'll be able to get up and running soon, will also have recordings available on the channel.
UXTV can become a great source of gaming videos for both Undead-Xbox and beyond, but it can't be done without help. I need everyone with a capture-card or computer-recording software to assist with this endeavor.

UPDATE 7/17/12
Recently, I've been experimenting with the Source Film Maker, and I've decided to take a new direction with the UX Podcasts that we do. I want to animate the good parts using Source Film Maker and TF2. But for this, we need help. If anyone is willing to assist in the machinima form of this process, please PM WestHybrid 360. If you would like to have a placement on the Podcast, please PM Sgt Zombie23.

UPDATE 6/14/12
Community Videos are now being accepted for submission onto the main channel! Lets Plays, Rage Quits, Gameplay Footage, and everything else will now be available on the UndeadXbox Youtube Channel. If you would like to submit a video onto the UX channel, please send you're video to WestHybrid_360.

I think that if done properly this idea can bring in a very wide audience and could also be a ton of fun. If you have a capture card or any sort of recording equipment then why the hell not right? Even if its just gameplay footage, you could turn it into a "Lets Play" or add commentary. And like west said it doesn't have to be limited to gaming footage. If your an animator, show us your stuff, if you write music do it, blog posts, reviews anything.

So how would this work exactly? Just merge any existing channel's we have into this basically? Who would be in control of uploads and channel upkeep? Would it be the people uploading or the staff?

Well its Wests idea and he is a staff member so I think he would handle uploads and channel upkeep.
@Tophat I wouldn't say we just "merge channels together," although I see what your getting at. What we want is a channel that has a variety of different types of videos. But we would be filtering it for quality videos only. It doesn't mean they have to be works of art, but they would have to be entertaining and relevant.

Most of our subscribers are on the same UndeadXbox channel we have. The channel name will not be changed, or remade. Currently me and Deadape have the password to the account. For now, videos(raw footage or finished footage, I'll be able to edit the video anyway) will be sent to me for upload. Digital quality is needed(360p or better), but other than that, the content of all videos are pretty much fair game, provided they aren't mindlessly random. Not a day goes by where I'm not on Youtube at some point, so video uploads will be kept up to date.

Let me know what you guys think.
I've got "reviews" underlined because that was something I mentioned in the chatbox at one point, and I really think it's a good idea. When a new game comes out, if say five people have played it and can write coherently (for simplicity's sake, everyone should have to write perfectly properly. Meaning capitals at the start, correct spelling and grammar, understandable sentence structure. Not saying people have to leave out slang, but it needs to be proper and uniform. It's an unnecessary hassle having to correct someone else's writing), they all write a review of the game on a topic for it. Either they all come to a consensus, someone writes up the consensus, or have a couple dissenting opinions if they don't agree on the game. Have a narrator (or multiple narrators in the case of multiple significantly different opinions) read through the review while recording it. Then send the audio file to someone who has both the game and the capture card, and they'll record appropriate footage demo-ing the various points made about the game (as well as general footage to run in the background when needed). Then they'll edit the footage accordingly and overlay the audio file, produce it, and WHAM! Review ready for presentation.
If it sounds too complicated, then you need more complicated things in your life. It really won't be very difficult. sgt's literally a small step away from them just by doing voiced let's plays. It would be easy to pull together, there's a reasonable amount of interest in decent review videos, and it would make the channel and the community at large seem more prestigious. And since we won't be getting paid by anyone, or profiting from it, I'm pretty sure we won't run into any trouble regarding copyrights (not to mention people will get a chance to give as honest a review as they'd like. No pressure to be nice just because it's a big game, go ahead and unleash a verbal shitstorm on it).
Anyway, I'm really hoping everyone else has the same enthusiasm for it, because I think it could turn out spectacularly.

To be honest, a lot of the time making videos can be incredibly tedious. The only videos that come to mind that I've made where I feel I put them out in a timely manner were either ones I was really excited about making (Operation Blood Docks, Killing Field, Outpost Echo Intro) or ones I felt obliged to make (UX Jackass, Stuntmanity's stuff). The reason behind this is that it can be really boring to do, and is a pretty unappealing thing to spend potentially hours of your time doing if you don't have passion for it.
Hopefully though there will be more interesting prospects, IE review videos and such.

Re: UXTV {NEW UPDATE 7/17/12}
Only problem i have with recording more than one person at a time, is a lot of things can go wrong very easily when you are not recording off the same mic. You can work around the problems or just ignore them, but it usually makes recording more than your own voice, a pain in the ass to do.
Other than that, everything else will be mad easy to make.
@Des, ya i agree it can be very VERY boring editing, so having more than one person who knows what they are doing would be a good idea. Having one person edit a shit ton of vids would be torture.

anybody with a capture card usually knows how to edit. so we could get a list of people with ccards and give them assignments to edit

Or, how about this. We get the UXTV thing going, and everyone does their own thing? If you give someone an assignment to edit, its not going to turn out well. It will be half assed more than likely. If you dont actually want to edit a video, it shows, and very much so.

If you mean splitting the editing by video, that might work. I did say it would be much less boring editing if it was actually something creative (IE a review instead of just gameplay).
If you mean multiple people doing the editing on one project, then no (I'm assuming that since you've edited you didn't mean this). That much collaboration would be extremely difficult.
As for recording multiple people, as long as the person is able to record separately it should work. You can set your capture card to not capture voices, so you'd just do that, then play through whatever while simultaneously talking into your mic and into your recording device (another mic hooked into your PC, a digital tape recorder, etc). You do some simple synch up exercise before starting the video, for example: Alan and Bob are doing a dual let's play. At the beginning, when they've got the capture card recording, they jump in game while simultaneously saying "Jump". In the editing period, Alan lays out both audio files over the timeline at the appropriate time and creates the video. If need be, Alan can just put the video back into whatever editing program and cut boring parts out (since the audio is now a part of the video, it won't be affected by the timeline collapsing).
This could also be done with more than two people. We pretty much already did it in the L4D2 videos (although with lower quality and not knowing it was happening). A good game for Let's Play videos would probably be Resident Evil 6. Provided it's a good game when it comes out (fingers crossed), I'm pretty sure it's co-op, and the nature of the game would lend itself to plenty of entertaining moments (game itself likely won't be scary, but for example, when player 2 is out of shotgun ammo and is cornered by a chainsaw guy. That would be "scary" for him, in the "oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck I'm gonna die I'm gonna die I'm gonna DIE!" way, and would likely result in some entertaining commentary and viewing).
The simplest way to do it would just be one player, with commentary (example: sgt's Let's Play Limbo videos). Then you could do two players playing and commenting, with one recording (example: Yogscast, and the theoretical example listed above). You could do stuff with multiple viewpoints, but that would increase the amount of work fairly significantly, and would likely not be that important to the final product.
