It's about time to explain the stat and skill system, I think. There aren't too many ways one could munchkin it up using this information (no more than you already could, anyway. I'm glad that nobody made a character with a 1, or even a 2 in any stat. You made me proud, boys.)

Each of the skills in We Go Way Back is associated with one of the four character attributes. Breaks down like so:

Likewise, your stat points contribute to a "modifier" based on the average stat pool of all characters created--in addition to your raw score. Modifiers break down like so:

Your modifier and skill in a particular area are both added to the roll of a d10, to retrieve your total score when a skill is tested.
EXAMPLE:
When walking into a room, Old Max searches for hidden items, or anything that might be useful to him--there's clutter around, and it'll take at least an 8 or higher to immediately see something useful among the detritus. With 9 INT, and 2 points in Perception, he gets a +4 to his roll--but only rolls a 1, leaving him with a total of 5. Not enough to immediately find an object of use, but provided he isn't under time constraints or imposing circumstances, he might spend a little more time and find something anyway.

Nick is being strangled to death by a mysterious woman with green hair, and attempts to break her grip. 5 STR gives him a modifier of 0, and this is added to his 2 points in melee combat; he rolls 8, for a total of 10. The woman attempts to hold on, and rolls 2, but her high STR score affords her an additional 2 points, and her skill in melee combat adds 5, for a total of 9. Here, Nick wins out by a small margin, but her grip may simply slip or loosen as opposed to being completely broken.

If everyone's okay with it I'm probably just going to end Chapter 1 with a cutscene. perhaps a short narrative, and take the hiatus/preptime I planned before Chapter 2.

Ideally I'll do that before the weekend's up, and then discuss who's going to be taking part in the next installment and the one after that provided I've got sufficient activity. I'm tired of people saying I can't get shit done when only like one or two of the 5-10 players I have posts at crunch time and it's somehow my fault.
