Jesus christ, at least stop saying shit like avi being a universally large format - it's not, your shit is just uncompressed. A typical divx rip of an 90-180min movie an avi too, and they're usually compressed into 700mb. After all, avi is just an container.

Well, if there's a way to make Fraps record compressed videos, I haven't found it (or a way for WinRar to compress them faster). If a compressed video is 700MB, imagine how big it would be uncompressed. It's really sounding to me like AVI is a universally large format.

Just stop, please. Do you even understand what "video compression" means? And again, avi is not even a "video format" in the sense you think it is, it's just a container for multiple data streams, of which one might be a video stream.

All I know is that when I hit the capture video button, it makes AVI files, AVI files that are big as shit. And that these AVI containers that contain video and sound take ages for Winrar to make a compressed version of. I suppose not knowing why exactly AVI files with the same shit in it as a wmv file (video and sound) means I deserve to die a painful death in the eyes of most computer experts.

All I said was that whenever I have an AVI video on my computer, it's always much, much bigger than every other type of video. And with Winrar always offering to compress and email anything I right click, I assumed that that was what you meant by compressing that shit.
