One issue I have so far, not sure if this is consistent for everyone, but for some reason EVERYTHING (Recent posts, news ticker, .GIF avatars and my text as I type it) Lags horribly when I'm scrolled to the top of the page, but if I scroll down past the widgets on the left and right, it all works fine.

That's exactly what's happening to me. I don't think he lowered the image files for everything yet, and I think thats the problem. Basically it's hard for the computer to catch up loading with the images.

And DeadApe, if you did change them, what are the file sizes of each thing, including watermarks and things like that. It's a bit different and better, but there are still issues.

its all good for me Ape. although its the same kind of just nagging thing for everyone. the white is just a little too... not dark lol

Ok well, I have lowered the sizes for the background, banner and "controller" by half. I will do the rest of the images when I get the chance. I just came back from the doctor because I'm not feeling well. So hopefully tonight.

Also, um I changed most of the white to a darker gray. Once again if anybody has problems with the colors please point out exactly where. I don't really see the layout being overly white at this point, you guys use microsoft word don't you?

Edit: I have made all the pictures on the website much smaller. Every single image is well under 100kbs except the banner which is 160kbs (after lowering it.) I'd rather not lower the size of the banner any more due to a loss in quality. In fact I don't if its noticeable but there is a definite loss in quality in the background, its not too terrible though.

Anyway so is anyone's lag fixed?

The lagg is smaller for me now but for some reason my post box is at the bottom of the page now.

i think that the grey-ishh looks way better than the bright white. I think u should change the color of the info under ur profile picture.

Yeah i saw the change the other day i was on a school computer i thought it wouldnt work because most websites are blocked still i like the change.

oh yea, also, when you get at the bottom edge in main menu, the botton starts.. "flashing"?, its kinda annoying

I dont like the buttons at the top. I think you should add some color!

you know when your cursor is on EX HOME, so it turnes black? well when you have the cursor at the bottom edge ( VERY BOTTOM OF THE WORD ) of ex HOME, it starts to "flashing" (turns dark, and then gray, like 100x a sec..) ... u know what i mean..?

Still a bit of lag for me, and I'm not sure exactly what's causing it.

@Masterofkills09, I think the buttons should stay the same, except for The Safehouse button. Change that to an off color to attract more people to it, because personally I think it should be showed off more.

Anyway, back on topic. If you lowered the image sizes, then it could be a few other things. The main background is still about 130k, and the banner is 160, which could be a problem, but that really can't be helped unless we sacrifice quality, or make a different main background.

Triple check your coding, if something has an error, it slows down the site. CSS coding is probably the most common error.

We may have too many images. Having more than twenty is having too many http requests, and it will slow down a lot. I'm seeing about 30 images being ours.

Lastly check for nested tables and see if you can remove a few of them, most browsers will lag and wait when you scroll until the nested table is completely loaded.

I checked the site out in a few different browsers. Chrome is having a really hard time loading everything, Firefox is a little bit better, and about equal with Explorer.

Dude got the same problem..... On the schools best computer...... Maybe it the java updates and stuff.... They never update it.

Ok everything looks 110% better now. The "white" effect is gone, and all of the colors look great. I don't see any other issues (for me at least) at this point. Great job! I would change my vote to YES if I could.

I really do like both banners but i like the darker colors of the old page
