Alan Wake IGN Review

Good review, but definitely over hyped and probably did not need 100 years to make. So I think in all disappointing. Put all that aside though and it should be a great single player experience. Its a rent, and I think I might check it out.

Yeah, cause what we really need now is to tighten the deadlines for videogames, so we can get even more half finished games full of bugs. I personally salute Remedy for taking their time to make the game without worrying how it's gonna affect the sales.DeadApe wrote:did not need 100 years to make.

So by taking an extremely long time to make a decent game they are better than companies that take 2-3 years to make an excellent game?

If this is a decent game, then define an exellent game...
And I didn't say they're better, I said it's an honorable act in an industry where other companies push their games to the stores full of bugs because of tight deaslines, put DLC on the disc, pay for better reviews etc. to milk money from the consumer.
But by taking their time with the game, they ensure that their game will be better in a way. It will have less bugs than an average game cause they had the time to seatch them by themselves instead of thousands of people exploiting the, and then having to patch every one of them individually... Sure, there will always be some bugs, but not as many in this case.

Re: Alan Wake IGN Review
Yea but there has to be a line. I'd rather have a game with 1 or 2 patchable bugs then have to wait years for a game that doesn't blow me away. I understand what you mean, its honorable for dev's to take their time nowadays and make sure there games dont suck before sending them out. But Remedy has been working on Alan Wake since like the launch of the 260. If you are going to work on your game for that long, it better be a 10 or at least a 9.5.
Also its a lot easier to create a game with less bugs if there is no multiplayer component.

True, true, 5 years is a lot of time for one game. I personally had no problem with waiting for it though, maybe after 5 more years it had become bothersome.
