UX Forza 3 Race - Event #11 (11/27/10) - [completed]

This will be Event #10. I need minimum 5-8 people to attend, otherwise it will be canceled due to a lack of players.

The Event will be on: Saturday, 8:00pm EST.

Specific in-game rules will be explained in lobby. For an idea of what to expect, see the topic under rules and regulations. This event consists of only ONE longer race. The winner (in addition to in-game credits) will receive a prize credits (see topic under "rules and regulations" for more info). Restrictions in each race can be limited by year, make, model, country of origin, region of origin, class, body-style, production/track, horsepower, or specific Performance Index (PI). After each race, the results will be posted below for all races.

***If you don't own a certain stock vehicle, don't worry, ALL stock vehicles are provided in game for multiplayer races.

Restriction for this event is as follows:

1. How many MPG's do you get? - This is a new kind of race. Restrictions are simply any production car; however, faster might not be better. All cars start the race with a full tank, and race (NO PITS) until their tank runs out. When your fuel runs out, your "finishing" position relative to everyone else will be recorded. With an empty tank, your car will stall out, and remain stationary in 1 spot. Choose your car wisely! If you have any questions on the details, feel free to ask (upgrades allowed)

Well the more upgrades you put on a car the less MPG its going to get because all of those upgrades will be sucking up more gas, it won't be how fast you're going around the track that uses up the fuel.

Okay first off what do you think a turbo does?

Sucks in more fuel to inject it into the engine faster. In a way
Meaning that it uses gas compression instead of the actual fuel.

Upgraded ignitions, suck fuel in faster, and use it faster.

Upgraded camshafts, suck in fuel faster, and USE IT FASTER.

Just about FUCKING EVERYTHING, sucks in fuel faster, when upgraded.



I'm done talking about this, the degree of intelligence needed to know it is null.

All I can say is that I don't know what "measurement" system the game uses for MPG. All of our predictions were off. After about halfway (when we realized the MPG wasn't realistic), we thought the fuel was either time based or distance based (meaning we would run out at the same time or same distance). This was also wrong.

It turns out that no-one has any idea what determines the best MPG. The fact that I won with a twin-turbocharged Porsche Boxster says it all (it doesn't get good gas generally, at least compared to the competition). I was also generating about 20psi of boost, and red-lining it around every corner, after the first 5 laps (after 5 laps, I wasn't trying to conserve at all). We were all separated by at least 2 laps each in the end.

Whatever determines who runs out first is up for debate I guess.

**Anyways, there were a few DNF's this race, but since we fell below the "5 people minimum" to finish, we would have to re-do the event. Since no-one wanted to do this event again, I didn't count any DNF's (so if you know you left early, you still might have gotten credits awarded).


This was the last endurance race for awhile (don't worry). Next event will be a benchmark based event, so make sure you get the track pack. Also, don't forget to update your garage!
