We came in fifth place.

Look guys, I don't like it either. The ForuMotion admins changed the rules so many times throughout and it really wasn't too awesome of a contest. Learning experience.

To any competitor reading this topic: Congratulations.

Don't worry though, this doesn't change anything! Undead Xbox is still the best and we will still be raffling off prizes.

I implore you guys, do not reply in that topic negatively. I realize that everyone here has a voice and a lot to say, but please, allow the Staff team to voice the derision of the forum as a whole

On another note, the raffle will most likely start sometime this week. ACTUAL prizes to be given out, not silly banners that I could make in MSpaint. Expect updates.

I am so confused, wasn't it meant to go to top 3 by community voting then judges vote?

Also I think they are biased towards BandA because the judges seem to be pretty chummy with them and they also banned cry for 2 days to "cool off".

Anyway can I have my prize now.

It's pretty obvious that the hosts of this contest couldn't properly handle a project like this, they just weren't organized or objective enough. They didn't seem to know what they were doing, and subsequently let UX down quite a bit. It's unfortunate, the contest could've been a nice way to share members between forummotion forums if it hadn't been mishandled.

From the recent actions (very recent) of the judges, I think it's safe to say there was a favoritism factor in the selection.

That, combined with the impression that they mostly just didn't know what type of contest they wanted to do. Our community was as vocal and supportive as the other participants. We received less votes than Babiesandall, which is perfectly acceptable, but we still had the second-most amount of votes by the end. Our forum's design is excellent and our events/features are well-organized. The problem was that, by the end, the previously-established conventions and rules were tossed out the window, and the contest suddenly became a quick decision based on unknown criteria, made by a few people who don't know us. Pretty disappointing after so many of our members helped out.

And I see the raffle as I'm sure DeadApe saw it when he posted it: A fun thank-you to the members who took a little time to go over and vote for the community we all enjoy, rather than some be-all incentive to bait votes from people who wouldn't otherwise care.

I could say so many things right now, but i'll leave it at this..

A contest for the best of forumotion, being based on personal favoritism and disfavoritism to individual administators, rather than focusing on the whole point of the contest (which forum is best), is flawed in itself. A true contest would be based solely on which forum is best, not that "oh no this one guy insulted me. I guess ill make his forum come last of the 5".

Very disappointed by the results, especially given the provided grounds on which they were decided.

That's all I have to say.

I can't help but think that Flask rigged this contest for babysandalls...

I was contacted privately by one of the judges, and because of the manner in which I was approached, I reacted in a way that was hostile. Essentially, we argued, and apparently that disagreement was the deciding factor in why UX was ranked as 5th.

Condemn me as you will, but I won't take back what I said.

For the raffle, will you be going back to the first few topics posted or did we have to prove we voted in the most recent? JW

If that is the reason we came in 5th, then it is very. very. cheap on the judges part, to put the forum in 5th place just because of an argument.

This contest just became a metaphor. Cry just made this website the Black Snow to forumotion (who is Cry). Get it?

Would it be possible for you to elaborate on this? The contest was not nearly important or dramatic enough to require that you modify your behavior and the way you would naturally respond, I don't blame you for speaking your mind at all (especially in a private conversation). Can you tell us what the argument was about? The way you describe it, the whole thing appears quite asinine.
