Confirmed trilogy by a new developer that continues a series that already has six games doesn't sound too great imo.

Edit: Plus the trailer was stupid. Random jetpack that the Chief didn't have at the end of Halo 3. Attaching a silencer to a magnum in space.

Yeah... I don't like this. Remember the big "Finish the Fight" thing? You know, the one that was really meant to establish that Halo 3 would be the end of the story? That's all undone by this. I'm fine with prequels and shit, but Halo 3 should have been 'The End'. There shouldn't have been any other Halos in the main series.

For that matter why would you attach a silencer to a Grenade Launcher? I mean regardless of whether or not the actual launch makes some noise, there's going to be a pretty big bang a few seconds afterwords.

I don't know where you're getting the Idea that there was a "silencer" in the trailer at all...If you are watching in High Res than you can clearly see in High Definition clarity, the Chief is loading a grenade onto the grenade launcher.

I still don't see why they did this. Halo 3, from the marketing campaign to the game's ending had a sense of finality. "Finish the fight," they said, "Believe," they said.

And for no reason as well, honestly we can just take the 'games get worse as they progress' approach but where does that leave us? Playing games back in 2002.

Looks good, and seeing as half of the staff at Bungie decided to just hop on over to 343, I think it's in good hands. I'm liking this.

But as soon as they start putting out games every year like COD, it's a slippery slope.

All I am saying is, when a series re-appears after supposedly being finished, out of nowhere, I'm going to assume it is shit until I actually see some game play and not a pre-rendered CG trailer of Master Chief flying out of a ship on a jetpack. Just reminds me an awful lot of another second trilogy that popped up out of nowhere. . .

Well actually it was 4 games at once, halo 4 starting the triligoy (3 games) and halo anniversary edition.

Alright.

IGN is saying that the "magnum" is more of an engineering tool considering the amount of them floating around the ship. I don't entirely agree, but we'll see.

It's also obvious that Chief has spent a lot of time on the ship considering how much the ship has fallen apart.

I also took a look back at the end of Halo 3. There it looks like they are approaching a destroyed planet, and the ship is mostly intact. So is the Chiefs armor. When coming to what appears to be forerunner tech the ship is practically blown up, Chief is missing half of his armor, and the planet they were approaching is long gone.

This leads to my theory that that "cut scene" or video is after at least part of Halo 4.

The only reason Master Chief didn't die was because Microsoft wanted to keep making Halo games even though Bungie was sick of it.

I dunno what to make of the the trailer. I do not like the changes made to MC and Cortana. Not because I'm afraid of change, but the fact that there's absolute zero reason why MC and Cortana look different. Cortana by the way looks horrendous.

Atleast from Halo CE to Halo 2, it was sensible Chief got some new armour. In the trailer it takes place right after the end of Halo 3. Wtf? And how did he get his jetpack?

I really hope 343i uses their time wisely. And just threw together a non-canon teaser for us.
