Crazy way to play S & D on Black Ops, looking for players
Hey guys, haven't been here for a bit, but I figured this would be the perfect place to find some hardcore gamers who might enjoy this idea. My friends and I have found that search and destroy is much more epic when taken seriously, and so have been playing it as such lately. The idea is that one person takes command for the game. You give orders, organize your squad, and basically play it out as tactically and realistically as you can. It may sound complicated but it's actually quite easy once you get used to it. Here are some standard things a commander may do:
-Ask a player to go sniper for a round (after finding out who's comfortable with it)
-Ask for one or two players to escort whoever's carrying the bomb, and remind them to check their six.
-Decide which objective to plant at.
-Possibly divide the group into two or more smaller groups and even appoint captains to direct each group.
-Instruct players to use a variety of equipment, so that he could say, have one put down a motion sensor to see if the area is clear, or use a claymore to cover a back entrance.
-Warn players not to wander off on their own, etc.
It's pretty simple, and if you want to try commanding but aren't very assertive, don't sweat it, the groups usually pretty laidback and supportive. Everybody is allowed a shot at commanding and we'll alternate between those who like it best. The idea is to see how many wins one call pull off while under command. There is also a lot of prestige in playing the role of a soldier, and many players prefer it. Those aren't commanding must follow orders to a reasonable extent or you'll be replaced, simple as that. Obviously though, commanders have to act reasonably, and not do things like order players to kill themselves, or put themselves at unnecessary risk. When commanding, one should keep in mind what the players are comfortable with, and cater to their tastes. So if someone really likes to roll with a shotgun, then let them as often as you see fit.
We find playing the game this way makes it way more intense and enjoyable. It may seem kind of rediculous to take the game so seriously, and it is, but it's fun. Those who mock or ridicule the idea, or just try to ruin the experience will obviously be replaced.
I've come here because we need a team of six for this to work best, and we don't always have enough players. So if it's piqued your curiousity at all, send me a friend request with a message, or just a message if it says my friend's list is full, and I'll invite you if you're on when we're doing it.

Re: Crazy way to play S & D on Black Ops, looking for players
We've already pioneered this with 3rd Person Team-Tac on MW2. Good luck with it though.

Yea that sounds like a lot of fun mander. A lot of us would be great for it to since we used to play 3rd person team tactical a lot (basically the same thing.) If I'm online I'd definitely be up for it, send me an invite next time you play.

Oh wow, I should have figured that you guys would have done something like this before. Team Tac on MW2 sounds fun, I'll have to try and get in on the next one. Do you still host them regularly?
