Left 4 Dead 3?

I think it's about time Valve started developing something along the lines of a Left 4 Dead 3? I've been playing zombie games since Resident Evil and Left 4 Dead is just one of those zombie games that you just can't help but admire. I'd also like to see some story development thrown into the mix, just to show how the infection happened, and have more backstory to the characters. I think it'd be cool if they even had some new gameplay aspects like maybe day/night filter, starvation, things that'd make it a more realistic experience. And I'd always enjoy killing new types of Special Infected...What do you guys think?

All the new stuff you listed sounds good, problem is they weren't in L4D or L4D2, which is why I think those two aren't that good of games. No storyline, no character developement, basically Left 4 Dead with 5 new scenarios and special ammo, plus a couple new special infected (that's what L4D2 was to me). Wasn't worth the full 60 dollar price, but it doesn't surprise me Valve sold it for that much anyway.

There'll have to be some actual improvement over the last game for me to be interested in buying the next one. And the campaign should last more than 3 hours for all five.

I agree with you 100%, and the lack of story is what bothers me the most, but lately Valve has been getting better with backstory, they just can't seem to grasp how to include it into their games, they kind of made an.....attempt in L4D2 by actually connecting the scenarios, they even released a comic detailing the original characters' backstories. If they were to make a L4D3, I think they'd do it right this time.

I was just looking at L4D3 vids the other day. They were all fake... but I watched them anyways.

I dunno how there could be a L4D3. Sequals only seem to have a purpose to make a game bigger and better, while fixing any issues. L4D2 seems solid enough to be the last sequal. Especially since there's mods on the PC version that adds new free maps made by Valve and the community. Plus new weapons brought in. And I'm sure there's already mods for a 'day/night' filter.

Instead of hoping for a L4D3 you should just pick up L4D or L4D2 on Steam for like $20.

Edit: and about L4D having a lack of story. I think that's what seperates L4D from the other infection related games that rely heavily on plot. L4D was always about four immune survivors that will shoot/hack/slash their way to safety across different campaigns (L4D2 just connected them together). If Valve just came in and made L4D heavy on plot, it would lose its identity.

As much as I might want to see how the infection happened, and the characters' background. It'd best be told through comics or whatever and not interfere with the game. IMO.

Valve can't count to 3.Thus there isn't a L4D3, Half life 2 Episode 3, Half life 3, portal 3 or Team Fortress 3.

Indeed, that's what I meant by jumping across 5 game series in the past decade. I'm confidant there will the long awaited Half-Life 3 in the near future.
