BF3 Battle days (Gametypes)
Very long, please read (or do so when the games are playing)
Realism:
Realism is as realistic as we can get to. Faction specific weapons, same camouflages, order. This for one puts everybody into a squad. Three per team. The three squads are actually fireteams, and the entire team is the squad. VOIP will be on "Team"
Someone will have to volunteer as an officer of the team. He is in control. He directs his fireteams, he assigns who is who, and he orders individual soldiers. This is an attempt at simulating Project Reality from BF2, but more fast paced.
Two fireteam leaders are under him, and they are who are second in command to the officer. They assist the officer in making decisions, and are in command of their fireteams, but cannot override the officer if the order is fair.
(These roles need to be played by calm, collected, mature players. They have many responsibilities.
There are quite a few infantry types that are available, some need to be requested to the Officer, who should never give more than the limit.
Note: Silencers are never allowed, with exception to the AS VAL, IRNV is only to be used by the Spotter. Those looking to gain the advantages of the silencer should use the flash suppressor which has gained the properties of the silencer as of 1.5. Shotguns will only use buckshot or slugs. Shotguns aren't allowed to use optics which grant magnification.
Rifleman: (Assault class)
Squad leader should preferably be a rifleman, as these are the most rounded soldiers. Carries a faction specific weapon with sights up to 4x but no greater.
Grenadier: (Assault class)
Carries a faction specific weapon with underslung grenade launcher. The grenade launcher should be underslung to distinguish him from the rest of the crowd. Low power sights no greater than 4x
Designated Marksman: (Assault class, 1 per team)
This is a rifleman, but with an M16 fitted with a 6x scope and a bipod or an AK74 with same setup.
Machinegunner: (Support, 1 per squad)
Faction specific weapon, no greater than 4x sights. Not allowed to use gadgets such as mortars, C4, or claymore.
Indirect Fire Infantryman: (Support, 2 per team, same squad)
Carries a shotgun loaded with buckshot or slugs, also carries a mortar for indirect fire artillery. Generally should stay away from frontlines, but nothing disallowing them from not heeding that warning.
AT Soldier/AA Soldier: (Engineer, 1 per squad)
Either an AT or AA soldier coming to bring pain to enemy vehicles. He repairs vehicles, he also doubles as a vehicle crew. Armed with faction specific weapon with up to 4x sights.
Engineer: (Engineer, 1 per squad, replaces regular AT soldier)
All the same traits as an AT soldier, except he lays mines or commandeers an EOD bot.
Forward Observer: (Recon, 1 per team, requestable)
This soldier is the eyes for the mortar teams, with no minimap, mortars can't tell where they're firing, so they need the FO to tell them how to direct their shots. The FO is armed with a semi-auto sniper rifle from the lists with either no optics, or low power optics. He is generally pacifistic and should stay away from combat as much as possible due to being alone. (If this class is abused for its sniper rifle, it will be revoked from said person)
Aside from the above, snipers are now outlawed except in certain circumstances approved by either myself or another game moderator.

Not used by Russian military, only police.
I'll allow it, for variety.

Ya, without it the RU team would be stuck with the SVD up against the M40A5.

Not like I haven't been able to pull that off before. And I fail hardcore at sniping.

Ya but with the SVD against the M40A5, you're going to have no less than a x7 times scope, so the Bolt-Action rifle will almost always win at Very long range.

I think it depends more on the skill of the wielder and not the weapon so much, seeing as all snipers are moderately powerful. But I digress.

I love this! If people can play by the rules this would be a fun game!
And Tophat if you can aim properly then it should be no problem.
Oh and what about a recon group with smgs and silencers to get in behind and close. Or paratroopers with the same thing w/o the silencers?

On the PS3. We've done games before where we used the VOIP in team.

May be a change for some people, but if it helps, all of the above weapons I use almost 'base'.
The skill of the warrior is in the soldier, not the weapon, unless it's a FAMAS, because then you're a laser beam that just needs to be aimed, but you catch my drift.

also, apoc, im not sure its fair for everyone else if the .44 is added... cause youre a sniper with that thing :L

This is for balancing the M1911 with the MP412, and to give both sides two sidearms to choose from.

Re: BF3 Battle days (Gametypes)
i think you should allow the .44 just so apoc has a choice when on the US team cause he cant use the 1911 cause someone is using his GT on the battlelog lolJagdgeschwader wrote:Tophat 44 wrote:ApocalypseVVolf. wrote:Give me my 44. Magnum

Team VOIP, which is game chat, and then switching all squads to the 'team' channel.
By the way everyone, only a few more are needed to do this.

there is no point in me leaving and no point in staying. but since I have absolutely no fun playing such games as battlefield and I have a boat load when I play with you guys, I figure I might as well stay. I think I might have Stockholm syndrome.
