The new US car icons

Well, some of you may have seen the new 2013 Viper a little while ago, and its Italian flare is definitely showing, thanks to its new ownership by FIAT.

However, it appears that the influence is spreading to other companies.

Thoughts?

I like the look of them both, and i heard they have changed up the suspension on both of them so thy handle like proper sport cars so hopefully the corvette follows suit when its released.

I'm always happy when a little Italian flare goes into American cars. I'm really liking these new designs.

Corvette looks cool, I never liked Vipers. I think they should go back like the Mustangs did a couple of years ago and combine the designs of the older cars. The Stingray Corvettes were the best.

FIAT does not OWN Chrysler; they are only partners.

But the Corvette does look remarkably similar to the viper in the front bumper.

I also do not think the Viper looks really as Italian as Erik said. I think it just looks closer to its first generation

Both the new Corvette and the Viper are supposed to be more "sportier" in their new generations. But the most recent ones were not bad either.
A track version of the Viper has the lap record on Laguna Seca.

And the Corvette has been highly succesful in GT racing in both Europe and the USA.

My dad used to have an old stingray before he died...we had to sell it recently as we had nowhere to store it when we moved...needless to say very nice car

No, you're wrong, especially on the 1st part.

I researched it. FIAT is buying Chrysler stock until they can merge into one company. So I guess you are partially right. You are still wrong on the looks though; those are an opinion.

FIAT is buying Chrysler stock until they completely take over the company, where Chrysler would become a FIAT subsidiary (aka they own them). They already own about 65% and are increasing their shares. Mercedes did the same thing back in the day, then dumped them when they saw no profitability.

And yeah the looks are opinion, but you are officially the only person I have heard of, of the many i've talked to, who thinks that.

atleast the new corvette will be affordable and all of the vipers and corvettes predecessors, at least for our generation
