MW2 Game Type: Assault the Embassy.
Today I came across the embassy on the map 'Invasion', and decided it would be a good site for a siege game type, much like this game type idea.
A quick guideline of rules would be as follows:
The game can be either Core TDM or Hardcore TDM.
At the beginning of the match, the players who are to be the Rangers are picked, and everyone else are OpFor.
For the Rangers, their weapon sets would be limited to M4s/SCARS/M16s/MG4s (all from the top of my head, there may be more NATO weapons I forgot about which fall into the categories of Riflemen or Heavy Weapon Expert).
For the OpFor, they should stick with any weapon which would be easy for a militia member to get their hands on (think AKs & RPGs)
All players should have at least one class devoted to each side.
The OpFor are allowed unlimited respawns, while any Ranger member who is killed must not return to the embassy. There are two options (decided by all the players at the beginning of the match) which can be taken for what happens to killed Rangers.
Option 1 - they join the OpFor side, and the game continues untill all the Rangers are killed, or a certain time limit is reached by the surviving Rangers.
Option 2 - The killed Rangers stay at a designated spot (decided at the beginning of th match) until there is a certain amount of them (again, decided at the beginning of the match) have died and are at this spot, and they act as back up for the under-siege Rangers.
Alternatively, neither side has unlimited respawns, and they battle for control of the Embassy within a time limit
NOTES: I personally don't think Kill Streak Awards should be allowed, but this can be decided by the group playing whether they want them or not.
The Rangers should be allowed a certain time limit (say, a minute) to get to the Embassy and ready themselves, where no firing upon either team is to happen.
Perks and equipment equipped should be within reason (e.g. no Riot Shields, throwing knives, etc), and a highly recommended perk is Pro Scavenger (for the extra Ammo).
COMPLETELY ALTERNATIVELY - The embassy could be used as a hold-off point in MW2 Zombies.
