In the Name of Meaningless Battle - Game 2 Empty In the Name of Meaningless Battle - Game 2

Post  Eaglendia 29th July 2010, 1:27 am

Does this belong in General Discussion? I feel as if I'm usurping the forum. Regardless, the first round begins at midnight CST (~40 minutes). Read your characters again, as some changes have been made.

CHARACTER LIST:
Test Subject 11-A "DeadApe" - DeadApe
The dream of every scientist is to take one of the world's greatest killing machines and needlessly turn it into a robot. 11-A is a gorilla, brought back from the dead with experimental technology and outfitted with a bionic eye, a robotic arm, and the Crucible, a back-mounted photon cannon. Needless to say, it escaped captivity pretty easily. No one knows why he's joined the tournament. Is he searching for more revenge? Why don't you ask the 800 pound metal monkey?

Special Abilities:
*The Crucible: An unimaginably powerful weapon that can level cities if fired at full power, its only weakness is its charge time. While the cannon is charging, 11-A may not use actions other than charging or firing, but he may use as many actions he wants to charge it. If the cannon becomes fully charged, the next action must be used to fire it.
1 Action Used: 100 damage.
2: 150 damage.
3: 200 damage.
4: 400 damage.
5: 800 damage.
6: 1600 damage.
7: 3200 damage.
*Hellfire Blast: 11-A's arm mounted flamethrower can fire jets of scorching heat at a single target. The victim takes 100 damage, and will take 25 damage a turn until they spend a turn to put out the flames.
*Invincible: 11-A begins play with 2500 HP.
-----
Master of Kills - Masterofkills09
An incredibly skilled assassin; the Master fights not with guns, but with a sword that can slice through concrete, a deadly martial art, and the Timeshift Device, a priceless piece of technology that allows him to manipulate the flow of time.

Special Abilities:
*Blade Throw - Throws Master's blade with such force that it can pierce multiple targets. The first person hit suffers 200 damage, the second 100, and the third a mere 50. You cannot use a normal attack in the same turn you do this, and you may not use this twice in a round.
*Time Shift: The Timeshift Device protects Master with a field of slow time. All damage inflicted on him is delayed until the end of the round.
*Wombo Combo: By manipulating time to perfect his reflexes, Master kicks a player character into the air, dealing 50 damage. After each successful kick, Master has a 50% chance to kick again for another 50 damage. This ability cannot do more than 400 damage. You may not use this twice in a round.
*WTF?!: The Timeshift Device explodes, dealing 700 damage to a target player, but also deals 700 damage to Master. If Master survives the attack, he can no longer use Wombo Combo and Time Shift deactivates. This ability only works once.
-----
Master Magician - MagicMan313
He's a magic man, and he's got magic hands. Once a powerful wizard with an act in the Magic Castle, he lost his home and car in a bad divorce, and lost his job after accidentally sawing his lovely assistant in half. By the end of his career, people thought his career was all smoke and mirrors.
Oh, if only they knew.

Special Abilities:
*Shadow Mirror: The Magician uses his own life energy to create a Shadow Mirror. Uses 75 HP to create a Shadow Mirror with 200 HP. Mirrors are incapable of taking any action. There can only be three at a time.
*Shadow Blast: Converts a Shadow Mirror into pure dark energy and assaults an enemy with it, dealing 200 unblockable damage.
*Shadow Reflection: If the Magician is hit with a Special Attack while he has at least one mirror and one action, he may use his action to sacrifice the mirror and deflect all damage and secondary effects toward a player of his choice.
*Illusion World: If the Magician is in control of three Shadow Mirrors, he enters an illusion world where he cannot be targeted by any attack or special ability.
-----
Snorlax - Masta Shef
Weighing in at just over 1000 pounds, this lazy creature's digestive juices can dissolve even the deadliest poisons. Snorlax is not an official member of the battle, but is simply displeased that it is intruding on his living space.

Special Abilities:
*Immunity: Snorlax cannot take damage from secondary ability effects (i.e. burns, bleeding, poison) or chance-based ability bonuses.
*Defense Curl: Adds the "Defense Curl" status to Snorlax. The next time Snorlax uses Defend, "Defense Curl" will be removed, but he will have 75% damage reduction instead of the regular 50 until he uses an action other than Defend.
*Rest: Snorlax takes a nap. At the end of this turn, he will restore 300 HP. He will start the next turn with no actions. Cannot be used when there is only one opponent left.
*Ice Punch: A physical attack that focuses energy to form a ball of freezing energy. Deals 80 damage and causes the target to start the next round with one less action. Ice Punch will always do at least 50 damage regardless of the target's defense.
-----
Koopatrol - El Mexi Can 915
This Koopa Troopa is the highest ranking soldier of Bowser's castle. Heavy armor and a spiked shell makes him a formidable foe.

Special Abilities:
*Shell Spikes: Normal or "close-range" attacks against the Koopatrol return 50% of the damage taken to the attacker. This affects each hit of a multi-hit ability. The Koopatrol begins battle with 2100 HP.
*Shell Bounce: The Koopatrol withdraws into its shell and flies toward a character, bouncing between targets. Deals 75 damage to up to 3 characters. The same character may not be targeted twice unless another character is hit.
*Last-Ditch Effort!: When the Koopatrol has 500 HP or less, all the damage it does is doubled.
*Protect: The Koopatrol hides in its shell. For two rounds, all damage it takes is reduced by 25. During this time, the only action it can use is Shell Bounce.
-----
Greed - mboddz751
A hedonistic homunculus that is often referred to as the "ultimate shield" due to his ability to transmute his own body into a substance exponentially harder than diamond. Greed comes to the battlefield in search of wealth.

*Transform: Greed transmutes his body mass. Using this ability allows Greed to transform from Attack to Defense form.
*Homunculus: At the end of the round Greed is killed, the Philosopher's Stone will revive him with 400 HP in his Charcoal Form. He loses the ability to transform.

-- Attack Form (Greed is unable to defend in this form.)
*Wound Strike:
Deals 150 damage to a targeted player, and inflicts them with a Wound. At the end of the next turn, they will bleed for an additional 50 damage. If Wound Strike is used on a Wounded player, the status effect will be delayed a turn.
*Ultimate Shield: Greed has the ability to reflexively reinforce parts of his body when struck. In this form, he has a 20% chance to reduce the base damage of a normal or special attack by 50%, and deal that amount of damage to the attacker.

--- Defense Form (While in this form, Greed can Defend at the beginning of his turn. Greed's Normal attacks deal only 80 damage.)
*Impenetrable Armor
: Greed's Defense reduces all damage taken by 75% instead of 50%.
*Taunt: Attempts to force a target character to spend one of their actions to use a basic attack on Greed on the next turn. If they choose to do so, he will counterattack for 120 damage. If not, he will ambush them for 180 unblockable damage. Can only be used on characters with at least one action remaining.

--- Charcoal Form (Greed cannot Defend in this form, and only has one action per round.)
*Alchemical Fury
: Deals 60 unblockable damage to all players.
*Philosopher's Stone: The player that lands the killing blow on Greed uses the Philosopher's Stone to restore 350 HP.
-----
Heavily Armed Pokey - Super Mega King
A portly boy who has chosen to follow Giygas. Piloting a semi-organic four-legged vehicle, Pokey aids Giygas in a sick attempt to consume the universe.

*Feeble; Pokey only has 1500 HP, and one action per turn. When he enters play, the Infinite Devil Machine enters play under his control.
*Cease To Exist!: Pokey's mech charges forward, dealing 150 damage to one target.
*Cloud of Gas: Choose a character. All damage they do is reduced by 25 until another character is chosen by this effect. This effect ends if Pokey is destroyed.
*Release: If Pokey is destroyed, he deactivates the Devil Machine, removing it from the field, causing Giygas to be released at the beginning of the next turn.

Devil Machine
An organic chamber that contains an infinitely powerful being.

*Devil Machine: The Infinite Devil Machine does not have HP. Any attack or ability used against it is reflected back to the source with double the damage and effect. The Devil Machine has one action per turn and cannot Attack, Defend, or manipulate Items.
*PSI Rockin' Beta: Deals 50 damage to up to four targets.

Giygas
An evil alien conscience that intends to consume reality in darkness, Giygas wields cosmic power so great that it has destroyed his body and mind.

Shadow Dimension: Giygas has one action per turn. He cannot defend or perform basic attacks. He enters battle with 5000 HP.
Unlimited Power: You cannot comprehend the true form of Giygas's attack. Targets four players with a random psionic attack.
Consumed by the Darkness: Every turn, all other characters in the game will pray for their lives, and Giygas will take 1000 damage.
-----
Kenshiro - Cry Vengeance
The sole practitioner of an ancient martial art, Hokuto Shinken, or the Fist of the North Star. Kenshiro's skills involve punching things so hard that they blow up. No, really. His speed and skill are unmatched, and he comes to the tournament to test his skills.

Special Abilities:
*Hokuto Shinken: The martial art allows Kenshiro to tap into the hidden power of the human body. His normal attacks strike the body's pressure points and deal an extra 30 damage.
*Opening of Sharper Senses: Kenshiro manipulates his target's nervous system, causing the damage they take from the next three attacks against them to be increased by 25.
*Thousand Hands Kill: A series of three punches that each deal 75 damage. They can be divided evenly between targets. Each punch has a 20% chance to strike a pressure point and deal an extra 15 damage.
*Aura Wave: Deals 90 damage to a single target. The damage can not be increased or reduced. Kenshiro can not take damage as a result of using this as an action.

Spider-Man - Slacker Hero
Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man! Peter Parker is an ordinary teenager who was given incredible powers after being subjected to the bite of a mutant spider. He happened on the battle in search of the leader of a crime ring, but how did he end up so far away from Queens? Your guess is as good as mine.

Special Abilities:
*Spider-Sense: Spider-Man can sense danger coming. He can never be caused to lose an action. He can also use an action to negate the effect of a special ability that was used on him earlier in the round. Can only be used once per round.
*Spider Swing: A high-flying attack that deals 100 damage to one character, and 50 to another. If there are at least two targets available to use this attack on, it must hit two targets. If not, only the first hit counts.
*Web Toss: Webs a target, giving the next action they take a 50% chance to fail. If it does, Spider-Man will sling them into the air for 180 damage.
