btw anyone who played the alpha can attest to the fact that the game is very balanced when playing regular game modes or even TDM

couple good hits take guys down not 2 full clips but snipers are a little less powerful

Yesterday’s beta announcement finally revealed the first details about the upcoming and highly anticipated Battlefield 3 beta. In the aftermath of the big news, a lot of new information and details have emerged. We’ve summed up everything we know about the beta here.


-Battlefield 3 beta will run from September 29 to October 10.

-There is no player level limit on the beta and no limit on how much you can unlock.

-One game mode, Rush, and one map, Operation Metro will be available.

-The Operation Metro map has undergone changes since the alpha.

-The beta is limited to 32 players on PC, 24 on console.

-Beta size will be around 2-3 GB.

-The netcode has been re-written from the alpha trial.

-Owners of Medal of Honor do not need the disc to play the beta

-EA Origin pre-orders and Medal of Honor owners get access to the beta 48h earlier, on Sep 27.

-If you want early access, you have to pre-order on Origin before Sep 25.

-Asia has now been added to the open beta.

-Origin is required to play the beta on PC.

-Stats and ranks will not carry over into the final game.

-PC beta system requirements can be found here.

-The beta won’t include all the graphics features which will make it in the final version.

I've got 4 GB, so I'm good, but 2-3 GB is a lot of space. I don't know if I want my internet to be tied up for that long.

I think the size is justified.

The operation metro map is quite big in itself, and I'm sure that since all of the ranks and guns are included it contributes to that taken space.

I still have the old relic Elite system so I don't really mind.

That seems a tad harsh. Castle Crashers is quite fun (I assume you're talking about downloadable games when you say you don't have faggot ass games on it).

I don't get why so many people care about the beta. I'm more than fine just waiting to play the game on it's release date.

Battlefield 3 releases October 25th and they plan on having downloadable content "later this year" (so presumably less than two months after releasing the game). This game better not be light on content. This sounds like what Killzone 3 did. I bought Killzone 3 the day it came out, and about a week later they had a map pack out. The game came with 5 measly maps, and they had the audacity to charge people for more maps one week later. They're such money-grubbers, I'm surprised they didn't sell the multiplayer separately (the direction it seems to be going in with these anti used game codes).

But as long as Battlefield 3 is a good, full game, it'll be cool. Like one of the comments there said, it'll "revitalize" the game after a month or so of playing the shit out of it. As for waiting a week, oh God! It'll be so unbearable, an entire week! I might just slit my wrists over this catastrophe!

Damn it, I wish Word or whatever this is based off of would recognize "multiplayer" as a word. I'm not putting a dash in the middle of multiplayer every time I type it on a gaming site, and I hate those red lines under my words. That's the right spelling to me, damn it.
