"Bah!" to you two. Stormcloaks are just shooting themselves and all non-high elves in the foot. As soon as the Empire looses Skyrim, either the Aldmeri Dominion conquers the weakened Empire and then the independent Skyrim, or, since the Aldmeri Dominion and the Empire are technically "allies", they both come and re-take Skyrim. Like they're so fond of saying in the game, the only thing keeping the Thalmor out of Skyrim is the Empire. If all of the Empire united couldn't defeat the Aldmeri Dominion, Skyrim alone definitely can't. You gotta drop your personal qualms with the Empire and do what's best for all of humanity. Even if you aren't human at all and are an Argonian or Khajiit, you still have to go with the Empire. If the humans who consider themselves superior to you treat you poorly, imagine how bad it would be under the elves who consider themselves superior to humans.

If you're a High Elf, I guess fighting with the Stormcloaks to divide the Empire would be the sensible thing to do. Otherwise, it's just a step on the road to High Elf domination.

True nords side with Stormcloaks.

If you play any other race, side with Empire.

I think Empire will probably be canon.

I have a question
So i had my house carl lydia following me when that tard ran up to a frost troll and died.
Now whenever i try to recruit a new follower they say "looks like you already got someone"
what does this mean, do i have to go and talk to the pile of ash that is now lydia? and tell her to leave?
But seriously how can i get followers i went to dragonsearch and lydia wasnt there.

Sounds like you're screwed there, particularly if you're playing on the Xbox. Try looking for problems like this on the Skyrim Wiki, it's probably pretty extensive by now, and likely knows of this glitch.

I use the Nightingale Armour that you are rewarded for completing the Thieves' Guild storyline. It's really good when upgraded and has a lot of helpful bonuses.

Yeah, same, can't believe the armor is upgraded with Void Salts.

I also refuse to bring back the skeleton key.

Ok, I'm level 7(just got the game) and I was wondering what I should choose when I level up. Magicka, Health or Stamina? I put 6 levels into Magicka because I am going to focus on that. I put the other one in health. Which should I choose if I am going to be a heavy magic user?

I'm like in the 40's, and somewhat magicka focused, and I'd recommend putting a few into health. I've put most of my points into magicka, but every couple levels I put one into stamina so I can do more attacks and health so I can survive more attacks. I've put a good amount into health actually, and even then I still get my ass kicked occasionally, particularly by dual wielding opponents.

Post  STUNTMAN1TY 31st December 2011, 7:44 pm

In Northern Oblivion, born and raised, in Skyrim is where I spent most of my days,

Chillen' out, snatchin' and thievin all cool as I sneak into some houses using lockpicking tools.

Til a couple of dragons were up to no good, starting breathing fire in my neighborhood,

I absorbed one little soul and the guards got scared, and said: Go to see the Graybeards in the mountains up there.

I did a few quest and it became clear, I was Dragonborn and my shouts were loud for all to hear, if anything they said my kind was rare, but I thought "eh whatever, this thief doesn't care."

I joined up with the Stormcloaks a few hours later just so I could make my level even greater, then I went to the college to improve my Magicka, and now I take over towns using FUS RO DAH. Razz Razz Razz Razz

Post  Super Mega King 31st December 2011, 8:46 pm

After playing the game for 70 hours I have a few complaints.

-The guilds are the most interesting quests but also are incredibly short. Lots of wasted potential in the mages guild, for example.

-It is too easy to become game-breakingly powerful. In fact, you'll probably do it accidentally.

-The followers (Housecarls and even guild followers) have no personality. In New Vegas each had a specific quest, specific allegiances, and specific feelings about your actions. Not true in Skyrim.

-The cities are too small and underwhelming and do not feel like actual cities. Most of them are one or two houses and some shops. The largest city has probably 15 unique NPCs while almost every city has around 10.

-Overall, I would rather Smithing not be in the game. It is too easy to level up and allows you to get the best gear really quickly if you desired. It also makes finding weapons and armor from dungeons (for the most part) a wasted venture because 90% of all the shit you find is worse than what you can smith. Exceptions include daedric artifacts, but I don't think that counts.

-To comment on the Civil War questline, and this is more a personal complaint, I feel as if the game did a good job by making you not want to select either side. Like, it's not like I can see myself allying with either, it's more that I can see myself allying with neither. I would choose the imperials because they are the lesser of the two evils, but wow.

-Money. There is too much of it and too little to spend on. I believe this is a combination of the fact that potions are incredibly common and that there is no need to buy weapons and armor when it can be smithed.

Still a 9/10 game.

The cities are too small, the dungeons are even bigger then some of them.

I agree. I believe it's easy to suspend your disbelief of how large the cities actually are until you realize that the largest city has maybe 15 unique (see: non guard) NPCs.

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES. Potions are way, WAY too common. I don't think I've ever used any except healing ones. Haven't used any draughts or elixirs, just basic healing potions. I get so sick of going to sell my shit and having umpteen potions to sell. Pretty much every NPC and every container has about a 1/2 chance of having a potion on it.

On the subject of cities though, most of the main ones, IE Whiterun, Windhelm, Solitude, etc. seem to be about the size of the cities in Cyrodiil. At least there seems to be more variety, but I agree, whether Skyrim is supposed to be sparsely populated or not, the cities could use a boost in size. At least add a bunch of farms and landowners outside the walls.

See, I disagree, I believe every city in Cyrodiil is larger than every city in Skyrim, bar none.
