Minecraft Questions

For anyone interested, this is the server we've been playing on for a couple days 69.162.85.3

The server is kinda hard at first but a couple of us are working together in a dirt house far from spawn, I'll post the coordinates once we're ready to move everyone in.

I suggest you guys make a temporary home and stock up on food

I agree that Minecraft could be much better with other players, which is why I am going to try my hardest to make a server! I will be posting a topic about it, but thought I would just say it here, also it will be for Minecraft 1.0.0 (release).

Here are the coordinates to the UX safe house until me, tophat, garquin, mrkurt, and knoxville gather enough supplies to move us to a new location which we can all build together.

Also if you go to the safehouse please do not get followed or spotted, don't dig into the wall with the sign saying not to dig here.

There is a torch next to the piece of dirt on those coordinates, just dig it up and go down but close the hole back up

Okay, my apologies for my stupidness when it comes to Minecraft, but I don't get it. I'm guessing when you hit the multiplayer thing, you hit "Direct Connect" and then enter in that address. Is there a map or coordinates just built into that server or something?

Do you just destroy the torch and dig up whatever's behind it, or dig up the piece of dirt next to the torch and then just dig down?

If I did join, I wouldn't mess with anything. I might try to make a storage chest and just leave stuff in it (i.e. coal, glass, food, wood) for everyone to use. I'll understand if you don't want me to show up, or alternatively don't want me to show up until I know a bit more about Minecraft.

Click add server then name it "Nagura" and add the IP address. When you join the game, press f3 to see the coordinates. When you're standing on the exact coordinates dig below you but make sure you place the dirt back when you go down. The torch is there to make sure you're in the right place.

EDIT; WE HAVE BEEN COMPRIMISED. Well The outpost has, not my base, which contains most of our resources. Anyone who joins the server can still come because we made peace with the guys who attacked us but we still can't trust them. I'm currently looking for a safer location but it's going to be a lot harder to get to

So what, anybody can join this server at any time and just fuck people's shit up (by the way, I mean that in a competitive way, not a whining about it way)?

What's those people's deal? Why did they attack you guys?

I'm guessing one of them saw somebody go in or noticed the torch or something?

I think someone forgot to put the dirt block back because i'm hiding out in the outpost and it looks ransacked.

Your in the wrong one then. Me and Sgt abandoned that place after we realized that almost everyone on the server at the time knew where it was.

EDIT: I've been mining in that abandoned mineshaft for awhile now and I've been hitting some good stuff; Diamonds, Gold, RedStone, BlueStone, and a whole bunch of Iron and Coal. I've also been slowly digging out more sections of it and creating a minecart system from all the tracks. Plus, I've also been attempting to light the entire place up so we can mine there during the night without the threat of being killed.
