1. I hide my taskbar for more screen space.
2. I use RocketDock, an icon dock application for the top of my screen (I just prefer it up there). Very customizable.
3. I use a combination of Rainmeter and Rainlendar to set up my desktop the way I like it. You can do tons of things with Rainmeter, and Rainlendar is a nice calendar and day planner to have.

Oh, and I also use programs to change my start menu icon and start menu appearance (which I didn't show in the gif) to make them fit in the simplistic contrasting theme I use. The start menu application is called Start Menu 7. I think I used the Orb Changer for the icon.
