A gimlet knife. It's a little thing that fits between your knuckles, and if you have a thin one with a curved handle it fits perfectly into a boot heel if you carve out a slot.

Basically, what am I doing and why? I'm not sure enough of my situation to make a good decision and I feel uncomfortable writing things into someone else's story.

Ico is a business rival. While it's not your job to get involved in military matters (you supply). You are interested in destroying him to create a monopoly. Remember, you're both from North Mexico.

Durov is simply a business partner and occasionally sends workers of his your way for you to use. You obviously never let them near working guns, they're delegated to lower processes. This isn't necessarily business that is local, but it can be. Durov is only interested in his own needs and is a bit of a sociopath.

You're interested in mercenaries because they are completely deniable if used probably. You can run operations completely soaked in black ink.

Officially, your job is to supply the NET (partially anyway, the demands of the NET could nowhere near be met by you alone or any other supplier for that matter) and help the war effort, granted, you still have your own interests.

Keep in mind you're a valuable target in the war, as is any company that supplies the military.

Can I get a basic mapping of the Enclave? It's establishments, et cetera.

If I'm getting some free time I'd rather use it doing something productive, and not wandering around not knowing what to do or where I'm going.

An apt question.

There are currently 688 soldiers in the enclave.

The enclave is about 4,000 feet in diameter. It's been growing smaller and smaller continuously.

In the near center is the medical wing. This is where casualties are sent alive or dead. This is the only non-combat area worth mentioning. Around the enclave, soldiers make themselves busy by tending to their weapons or assisting other troopers. In their free time, soldiers spend time playing card games, limited physical sports (Once, troopers played baseball with their rifles as bats) and other things like sharing stories to pass the time. Any recreational indoor game, the troopers may do.

While against very specific doctrine, casual sex between male and female troopers isn't rare, but it isn't uncommon.

Soldiers tend to sleep anywhere from underground in basements on furs to outside in the cold.

The enclave has to be constantly defended to ward off any scouts trying to garner information. It's protected by a series of M2 Browning .50 caliber machine guns that defend the perimeter. Soldiers are rotated through these posts regularly.

If it's only 4,000 feet in diameter, can't the NET just shoot the ever loving shit out of it with some sort of artillery? Do they already do that?

I'm thinking about I think episodes six and seven of Band of Brothers, which take place in those snowy woods (Bastogne, I think? Somewhere in Belgium?). They basically just live out in the snow and cold all day and are constantly getting bombed.

They have been. They've been bombed before by the NET Air Force, but the UGW Air Force maintains air superiority for the most part. Artillery is ineffective and is saved for the front because the West has a bad habit of blowing it up.

The enclave has been destroyed by artillery, set on by fire by napalm, and airstriked, but never invaded. Keep in mind the territory as well. Concrete buildings and a lot of them. They're all practically destroyed, but it has protected them. If they sat in the open fields in most of North Dakota, they'd be slaughtered in a day.
