Well the best name i can think of is; TheUXproject.com
Simply, because it is such a simple name. The UX also would be a good idea to include in a name (The site does not have to be THE Project, but the UX is something that should be included) The UX is quite a decent suggestion, UX does not have to stand for anything it can just be its own word. It also saves us from taking time to make up a new name, we have been known as UX for all these years, plus we would still be the same community but not the same Idea, I think this is our best option to name the new site UX.

UX isn't dieing, we're just moving on to bigger and better things.
It took us this long to get popular, even then most of it was luck imo. I dont think this next site will be nearly as popular.

I'd argue that this new site has the possibility of being even more popular than UX ever was.

What is the theme of the new site supposed to be? Sorry if this has already been asked.
Also, Imo I don't think a new site would boost activity. The reason why UX is becoming less active is because all of the "active" members are good friends now and they do not need to site to schedule games. If you want a more active site you need to focus on new game modes and maybe a lot of new staff members to help push new members to be active. It is kind of hard to fit in on a community like this when every body is in their friend group, and not really willing to except new members.
To sum it up: A new site would be the exact same as UX if you use the same member base of active players. You will gain activity with new game modes and being more accepting of new players

For a more complete answer, please read the topic, as this has been talked about to death.
In summary: We believe that a new site will help bolster activity because we're broadening the scope of the site. The new site will include much more than community games (which revolve around a single game and have grown quite stale), but creative content such as gaming articles, reviews, gameplay footage, let's plays, and podcasts. It's the natural evolution for a gaming community.
Developing new gamemodes and such is like applying a temporary booster shot to a dying community; our idea will hopefully cause more meaningful growth.

Then it doesn't work, and the community will regress to the level it is now, or maybe it'll get worse. It'll be a failed experiment, and then it's over (unless we decided to try GTA4 gamemodes again, which I find unlikely).
The truth is though that if we DON'T do this project, UX will die anyway. The podcast titled "Episode Zero" posted a few days ago goes into this indepth. Membership is down 90% and shows no sign of spiking again. The problem with the current site's theme is that it revolves around a single game and thus gets stale after awhile, especially because the game is the only game thus far that works for us.

Since I died once again by falling off that peculiar square edge of the Earth and not resurfacing for quite sometime because I was stuck in the hyperbolic time chamber, I think my input is perfectly valid for the future of the site.
First, scrap this basic forum crap. Make an imageboard with anime roots and a leader that dresses like a woman and moderators that post child porn. Then have the same thing discussed every 5 minutes, with recycled pictures with different text under them. BAM! Next social media outbreak.
In all seriousness, I have loved this site for two things: Community and collaboration. This new site is probably the best course of action and the premise behind it is pretty cool. Just throwing ideas out since everything else has been talked about till nauseum.
-Templates: Such as for scenarios (something for more shy users to give a try and get more people involved to create with less effort)
-Rating: On ideas and such (again easier input for users)
-Imageboard?: For typical general discussion without standing in front of the creative aspect. (ok so maybe the beginning wasn't such a joke. It's simple, easy to get involved in, and easy to let die if it's embarrassing or unwanted)
-Don't get rid of much: A lot idea's on here are really well made and some just need a bit of a stronger user base to flourish ie: hell matches.
I am sure the opinion of a member who has been showing up sporadically for the past year is very helpful and will be taken seriously. That being said, I plan on sticking around more. If this place really is going down, I'd at least like to be here with it when it does.
For names I like mortalgaming.com

No Wafle I take your opinion very serious. We love ya and we hope you hang around on this new site.
And yea I suggest that if anybody hasn't, that they listen to our podcast talking about the new website. The reason it works is because we are EXPANDING beyond things we've done before. The site will have little emphasis on custom games in comparison to this one. The site will be a legitimate gaming themed website with heavy emphasis on user submission and creativity. We will bring users in by creating podcasts and game videos (things we love to do.) The site is going to be NICE. We are purchasing a vbulletin and moving away from forumotion. We will have our own domain as well. We are going all out on this and we strongly believe that this will work.

If we're moving to "vbulletin", I hope you can at least customize the theme. The vbulletin vbulletin here http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/portal.php looks really bland. I think the current site has a really nice, easy to use look to it, whereas that vbulletin site looks cluttered as all hell and boring. Doesn't look to easy to navigate.

vbulletin is the most highly customizable forum software available. EA? Steam? Most high end forums on the internet all use vbulletin. We could do pretty much whatever we wanted to it.

I agree, I mean it is a forum based around GTA 4 zombies. I think we should wait until GTA 5 comes out then see what happens. And yeah your right about Xbox 360 "dying". I just don't want to feel like a community based around just one game which is really old and not many of us play any more.

We've discussed the possibility that GTAV will come out and will revitalize the community. We decided that it's doubtful, but even if it does happen, it'll be a temporary fix; it won't be too long before the site is back to the way it is now.

Are there seriously like 3 people who actually know and understand what's going on?
Let me list some reasons why we want to retire UX:
-It's based on a 4 year old game that members are losing interest in
-Membership activity is down severely
-The future of the site depends on a game (GTAV) that might not even work for zombies
-Custom games are not being hosted as much they should
Consider this, GTAV comes out and it doesn't work for zombies, then what? Sure there might be other games we can do zombies on (Halo/Blops) but those were never popular to begin with. The site will literally be what it is now. Worse actually. If GTAV does work then sure we could definitely get this site up and running again, but eventually we would end up where we are now, so why delay the inevitable?
Lets be honest, most of you guys that want to keep UX don't even show up to zombies anymore or post frequently. We can't even get half the veteran members to reply or even look at this thread. This new site is bigger than anything we've ever done. (UX can literally be a section on the new site if we wanted) Why would you not be excited?
Don't worry about the new site becoming popular, we got that covered. In the past we've relied on certain members to create youtube videos but now all of us are learning how to do that stuff. We're currently experimenting with podcasts, recording video, live streaming, etc etc.
Like DeadApe said, vbulletin is sweet as fuck

Is the Steam group getting an update with the new site (IE to a new name) or is there going to have to be a new Steam group?
Also, everyone should join the Steam group. Probably the primary reason I don't attend any events anymore is because they're all on 360, and my brothers share my 360. It's just too much of a hassle to go get it and deal with setting up all the wires and finding space on my desk and all that bullshit. It takes like 3 minutes, but I'm NEVER in the mood to do it. However, I could attend PC hosted games, if there were PC hosted games.
So basically what I think would be good is if the site's matching Steam community was bolstered significantly. Maybe try to get the attention of PC gamers? Could record quite a few group events done on PC, use them to advertise the community (I plan on getting Fraps and a new headset soon, so I should be able to do that, and there's of course tons of other members who can record, like KG). For example, if we had a say six player community event in Mann vs Machine or something, we could all get in a Skype call for better audio and record the whole thing, let it advertise an open community with varied interests.
And maybe also get some DayZ co-op videos too. If the site name "Bro-Op" doesn't work, at the very least it could be used as a joking subtitle of co-op videos from the community. For example, new site channel has the playlist "Bro-Op", featuring members playing co-op instead of competitive games.

It'll be over soon....Everything will be gone and this place will be forgotten.
It's too bad, really because the whole thing started out so well. Ux is-.... Well, was one of the more successful websites it was populated rapidly friendships developed and people came from everywhere to take advantage of the gaming opportunities here. For years we all prospered, it was like living on a new frontier... and then....It all came to a halt. A inactivity pandemic was exposed to members like some sort of virus.
Press code Inactivity, Its practically destroyed everything here
Everyone has left Ux now, or at least almost everyone. A few of us stayed behind, some by choice others because we had no choice. Our days are numbered now, we're all doomed. All except for one person, there is one ship left and one of us will get away to safety.
Inactivity is in its final stages of its destructive cycle. Website UX and everyone left on it will die...
To kill time time members have been using parts from abandoned factories and forgotten equipment to transform cars into super powered vehicles and race them around the empty topics of ux. Todays races aren't like the others though, Today each driver is racing for his life. The winner will take that one remaining place in the last ship..... The others? Well......

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Staff members on fire at the end of a zombie night. I watched rockets glitter in the dark near the Triangle Club. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.
