In actuality, though, GARQUIN is simply ignoring your messages. He is barricaded in an end-unit on the other side of the hotel, and is currently engaged in a heated staring contest with his HARD GERK BOTTLE COLLECTION.

Though your skill with blades is high, a meat cleaver does not a throwing weapon make. You decide you're not going to take the risk now.

Ahead and to your left, a door leading into a stairwell has been unbolted from the hinges. There is also another door, leading out onto the street behind the hotel. The hotel also has below-ground parking and lobby space, but the street and most of the building has collapsed into it, and it would really just be a hassle to get into.

Tactically inclined as your fellow UX members are, this building is pretty fucked. You don't doubt their survival techniques, but you'll probably find them somewhere that makes more sense.

Besides, a zombie face would probably pop out at you when you went in the vent, and you wouldn't expect it at all.
