Soren: To Mercer "The code for the shield is 2012, i need to go and speak with Doc Turner, i'll be back in a few" He walks back through the ship's coridoors to find Carter and Dmitri having a stand off, overhearing 'borrowed these without permission to help improve our medicine' he scoffs.
To Dmitri "I told you specifically not to touch those supplies, i even asked nicely." He walks over to where he left his personal possesions and removes a flask, sitting down in his corner by the medical drone he takes a large drink of the flask's contents and mutters 'Drink tea, pass time'

The Captain, feeling rather tired from the recent recon mission, decides to just take the simplest way out. He orders that Demitri be thrown in the newly repaired brig until tomorrow morning, at which point this silly conflict can be resolved. He then goes to bed, and recommends everyone else who isn't taking watch follow. Tomorrow, the docs will check out those miners' corpses and figure out what's wrong with them. Everyone else will find out what to do next, but for now it's time for a good rest.

Outpost Echo - Game Topic - Page 21 Empty Restarted

Recap:
While riding aboard a colonization ship to a distant planet, the alarms went off and you were instructed to strap yourself into your crash seat by the ship's PA system. The ship made an emergency landing on the nearby planet Alleroth, a modestly populated mining colony. The Colonial Security Force or CSF is a private military company hired by the colonization organization to provide security from any native threats that may be encountered on uncharted planets. The CSF took charge after the landing, trying to assure that no property was stolen and to help wounded passengers. Alan Taylor, the ship's lead mechanic and Dr. Morton, the CSF's chief medical officer focused on repairing the vehicles and tending to the injured, with help from several of the ship's passengers. For some reason, the planet's public network was down, which restricted communication to obsolete short-range radios.

Meanwhile, Captain Breckinridge, leader of the ship's CSF contingent, gathered a scouting party consisting of Sergeant Carter, Dyama Koyovsky, James Patterson, Shane Michaels, and Vince Offer. The team decided to head to a nearby mining facility to find out why no first responders had been sent to the crash site. Back at the ship, inventor Cleatus decided to find a suitable place to start up a lab, with help from Demitri. Desmond Mercer, an engineer, and Victor Forge, a mechanic helped Alan Taylor repair a damaged warthog while Sketch Turner and Soren Blackstone focused on repairing the ship's medical bay. Dillion Fielding, a mercenary, Ethan, an engineer, and Tom Hatt, a colonist also helped around the crash site with various tasks while waiting for the scouting party to return.

When the scouting party finally made their way to the mining facility, they found the door unlocked, indicating that it was currently occupied. They cautiously entered, worried about encountering a rebel ambush. Upon further investigation, the group encountered the miners. For unknown reasons, the miners were hostile and attacked the scouting party, with many of the hostile miners emerging from the facilities dormitories and blocking the way out. The team fled deeper into the facility, eventually hiding from their assailants in a warehouse. They attempted to contact the rest of the CSF, but couldn't reach them with their radios. They decided to wait to escape until sundown, when they would hopefully have the upper hand on the miners due to in-built night vision.

At the ship, Demitri Ivanov attempted to acquire some medical technology. Soren Blackstone and Sketch Turner confronted him and argued for some time, until gunfire was heard from outside the ship. With the portion of the CSF that was on guard duty having fled inside to avoid sniper fire, the survivors of the crash were effectively trapped. Fortunately, Cleatus located a hull breach. Dillon Fielding was able to use the hull breach as a makeshift sniper's perch, and eliminated the hostile sniper, as well as killing the driver of an enemy warthog and preventing any others from using the gunner's post. The CSF was able to exit the ship, and with cover from Dillon killed the remaining hostiles. Judging from their attire, they are believed to have been rebels.

The scouting party finally made their way to the exit of the mining facility under cover of darkness. Before they could escape, however, they ran into a group of the miners, and one ambushed and killed Vince. Shane shot the ambushing miner, and the group quickly fled the facility. They ran down the road, back to the crashed ship. Upon coming within range of the ship, the Captain signaled Lieutenant Colfax, who had been left in charge of the camp in his stead, and the CSF prepared to repel the pursuing miners. Utilizing the chain guns on both their repaired warthog and the rebel's warthog, the CSF was able to kill off the attackers. With the camp safe, the recon team took a well deserved rest, and Demetri Ivanov was escorted to the newly repaired brig until further notice for stealing medical supplies.


Rules Update:
The rules are, for the most part, the same. I should like to note that OOC things may still be posted in the game topic, but if you think something OOC might need more extensive discussion, you should post it in the OOC topic.

A new "rule" of sorts has however been implemented. Characters who go long periods of time without getting any commands will go into auto pilot, meaning I'll control them and make them do generally agreeable things (IE if someone needs help moving something and nobody else helps, a character on auto pilot will help just so they don't do nothing the whole time). If the player returns, they of course have priority and can continue controlling their character. This doesn't mean you have to constantly update your character; this rule mainly applies to people who I believe won't be showing back up. Meaning Shane Michaels, James Patterson, and Victor Forge are likely to be completely on auto pilot (since Lockon isn't coming back, and Pwnisher James and STUNTMANITY seem to be missing in action again). It should be noted that this doesn't mean I'm going to start people in auto pilot immediately. I'll give plenty of time for players to return.

Also, I should like to add that NPC's can be taken with you on missions. For example, if you decide
you need to go into a nearby town and gather a group, you can choose to get NPCs in the group. Different NPCs have different specialties, which will be detailed when you ask what NPCs are available to assist. Characters on auto pilot will be listed with the NPCs. If other NPCs aren't available, you can also get help from lower ranked CSF members.



The game is on again now. You can ask for a personal update if you aren't entirely sure where you are at the moment. You may do whatever you see fit now. Quick note: Due to the excess of them, all characters now automatically have a miner's pick. It's stored in one of your leg compartments, and will only be shown in the video when in use. While cutting through rock or steel in a timely fashion will likely overload it's battery, it still may be useful as a last line of defense or a general utility knife. Having it doesn't impede you at all, nor does it prevent you from having a primary weapon and a sidearm.
