No Man's Land – Ashacre
The grass changes color to a yellowish hue as you breach the forest, and the shrubbery grows much more sparse, the hilly landscape leveling off into a plain that extends in all directions. You continue, walking into an area that looks like a ghost town, of sorts. A distance to the north, you see a wooden cottage that appears abandoned—it is built next to a stagnant pond. Similar homes dot the landscape, with sunken and ruined wooden fences enclosing plots of dead farmland. At the center of this space, a well sits atop a broken cobblestone floor, with a few small dilapidated homes surrounding it. The town is noiseless.
You look further to the north, and see a dirt road stretching eastward—further beyond, a plot of farmland and another cottage. To the far northeast, you see a windmill still turning, and some other buildings.

"The... Celestial Gems, you say?” Douglas speaks up. “I am aware that these are artifacts of some great importance. Were these the items stolen from the museum, Asho?"
Asho does not respond, instead looking in the direction of the forest. It looks like the fire affects only the southern half—you would be able to cross through, likely, but you'd have to spend much time off the beaten path, trekking instead through unshaped woods.
“Ooh, rose gardens.” Sonia smiles. “Can we go there? Let's go to the rose gardens.”
Alvaro chuckles. “The Dawn Rose Garden is not a rose garden. It is an ancient site, a burial ground that has weathered the passage of time since the Celestials walked among us. Many legends circulate regarding its original construction—they say that it was built by one man, as a gift to his family dying of a grievous plague, so that his daughter might see and be buried among the flowers she loved.”

The heavy scent of death rises from the cobweb-laden building as you approach; your gait becomes more cautious, and you look inside through the doorway to see the decaying body of some sort of canine animal, lying atop a rug, swarming with flies. You step up onto the porch, peering inside, and the wooden boards almost give way under you. There's the remains of a fireplace—the bricks appear to have collapsed downward. A sealed wardrobe is in the corner of the house, as well as a table with a few books stacked atop it.
There's another room, again, without a door, but you can't quite see inside.

Try to examine the animal from where you stand. See if it has any obvious wounds or signs of what killed it. Inch your way around the sides of the room where the boards aren't as flimsy and see if you can't see what's in the other room.

While in Callestria, we picked up a bounty from someone living on a farm beyond Oksana - I presume somewhere in this area - who 'needs help'. Might you know anything about that?"
“Oh, yeah. That'd be us.” The kid speaks. “Pa went off to the city to put that up. Hasn't come back around yet. Come on inside, would you? We could use help from people like you. Come on inside, I'll... let you know what's going on.” He sighs, then bounds to his feet and heads into the dimly-lit building, ushering the two of you inside.

Alvaro shakes his head. “That would be the complete opposite direction, lest you were to attempt to take a boat. From what I've heard about your journey thus far, Alvaro believes that sea travel is not in the cards for us fools.”

You can't quite deduce what killed this creature—it's simply dead, and rotting. You inch your way around the side of the room and head into the other one. Looks like a small bedroom. A bed is in the corner with moldy linens and an extinguished candle on top of the drawered nightstand next to it. There's a table at the foot of the bed with a chest beneath it.

This appears to be a small, poorly furnished bedroom, and in a bed, a young girl sleeps, audibly wheezing. She coughs, and her form shifts weakly beneath the covers. The bedroom is lit by a single candle that sits on a night table to the side of the bed, but it looks like it's close to burning out. Strangely, the candle's light draws you close, and you feel protected in its vicinity; it is sculpted out of a blood-red wax with no impurities, and gives off a pleasant heady smell that contrasts with that of the room.
“She's sick.” The boy shrugs. “Been like this for a while. Pa went off to get medicine, too, or at least figure out what's wrong with her—he went off with that bounty because he really needed help, but didn't expect anyone to get here before he did. I've got to stay here and take care of her, but our candle is close to burning out.”
He makes his way to the table. “They're lasting shorter and shorter... and I can't leave her to go up to the village and get a new one. What if it goes out while I'm gone, or some thief comes by and no one's watching the house? “Ah, yes.” The treasure hunter rolls his eyes. “As sure as your green markings are a skin disease.” Anise stifles a laugh. The congregating crowds at the entrance to Callestria give confused looks and converse about themselves as the group walks headlong toward the burning woods.
Noting that the sun has since begun to lower from its peak, you make the trek to and breach the forest, north of the path. Looking south through the trees, you can see the towering flames, blocking off an entire cross-section of forest; the heat can still be felt from here. The foliage in this area has grown tall, and the woods are wracked with panic. Dog-sized beetles are visible flying in circles in the low treetops; incessant canine howling and barking emanates from the horizon as you push forward—there are few visible landmarks in any direction, though you believe you can see a hill some distance to the northeast, the path is to the south, and you think there is a clearing in the forest an indeterminate distance ahead.

“Ah, yes.” The treasure hunter rolls his eyes. “As sure as your green markings are a skin disease.” Anise stifles a laugh. The congregating crowds at the entrance to Callestria give confused looks and converse about themselves as the group walks headlong toward the burning woods.
Noting that the sun has since begun to lower from its peak, you make the trek to and breach the forest, north of the path. Looking south through the trees, you can see the towering flames, blocking off an entire cross-section of forest; the heat can still be felt from here. The foliage in this area has grown tall, and the woods are wracked with panic. Dog-sized beetles are visible flying in circles in the low treetops; incessant canine howling and barking emanates from the horizon as you push forward—there are few visible landmarks in any direction, though you believe you can see a hill some distance to the northeast, the path is to the south, and you think there is a clearing in the forest an indeterminate distance ahead.

While tracking a group of creatures is easier than tracking a single one, especially when they pay little mind to covering their trail, it becomes more difficult to track at night, or when it is raining. Following a trail over rock or a similar material is almost impossible.
==Bow Specialization: When wielding bows, the Redthorne's weapon damage is enhanced by 50% of his STR. Bow specialization also allows the Redthorne to learn unique bow techniques as he levels up.
