The Operation Imperial Wargames Intro & Sign-up (A halo universe forum game by Mboddz)
***For the record, this will not be an exstensively long forum game.***
Date: 3/10/2555 (UNSC Military Calander)
Location: Sol System-The Great Asteroid Belt
Amidst the tumbling and colliding rocks of the Great Asteroid Belt and the looming figure of Jupiter in the distance; a lone spacecraft moved almost invisible to the naked eye and most certainly to any sensing equipment in the area. The spacecraft was an ONI prowler. A class of ship which was considered one of a kind its in own respects, and had an elctronic warfare package that made it an invaluable recon asset. The prowler's stealth capabilities were also something that the ONI personel stationed aboard were thankful for, as it had proved vital in many escapes.
Commander Evan Monroe sat in his private quarters deep with in the hull, staring at the grey plated ceiling. He hadn't moved from the bed since the prowler had left its dry dock on Luna; not like he had clearance to go a few hallways beyond his room anyway. It was frustrating. He had just been given command of his first ship, and it was already taken from him. Monroe had only been the commanding officer on the light UNSC frigate Quicksilver for two days before a group of ONI spooks boarded his vessel, after bypassing security protocols, and told him his audience was needed at a presently unnamed facility. The commander had known better than to say no to the Office of Naval Intellegence and had quickly oblidged. But all it had gotten him so far was a small room to sit in with a mission briefing that was more grey than the four walls that surrounded him.
What the commander could gather from the files was he was being transported to participate in a massive war game; the nature of which was being kept intentionally vague. There was a rather large list of other UNSC officers and a few blacked out spaces where he only assumed other names could be. Monroe understood that the spooks (especially ONI) liked to keep their subjects in the dark, but the sense of helplesness it brought along was still hard to swallow. Suddenly, the datapad sitting idly on the Commander's bed, chirped to life. The noise almost made Evan leap in the air for a second; considering how deep in thought he had been. The mission briefing had been updated and was awaiting Monroe's fingerprint ID to continue. The tense commander placed his right pointer finger on to the middle of the datapad's
screen and sat unflinching as a brief flash of light enveloped his finger, and the opaque ONI symbol covering the rest of the briefing, faded out of view. The now fully revealed file read:
--------------------------------
Operation: Imperial (War Games)
--------------------------------
The purpose of this War game scenario is to test the effects of a "Great Schism" (civil war) on the majority of the UNSC fleet; not to different from the one that crippled the more infamous Covennant Armada. If you are reading this, it means two things.
You are A: now under the direct authority and command of ONI section 3, and B: have been deemed a skilled enough officer to participate in this experience.
The officers accepted in to this simulation will be given command of vessels with tonnage ranging from frigates to cruisers, and even whole battlegroups if deemed appropriate. The participants will be divided on to three different teams which will be tasked with completing different objective around a fictional star system of strategic importance. Once one team has completed all of the pre-determined objectives, or is the only fleet deemed still battleworthy, the simulation will conclude. Monroe cocked an eyebrow at the last part he'd just read.
"Heh, kind of like battleship." Monroe thought to himself.
There will be multiple classes of spacefaring craft as listed below:

Commander Monroe sank back in to his bed again and gently tossed the datapad at his side once more. His mind was racing. ONI was staging a massive wargame involving the UNSC's brightest? At least; thats what the file on the screen had just told him moments ago. Well Monroe knew there was no doubt he was in for this ride, for better or for worse. The question still remained: Who else was participating in this crazy game?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
P.S. If you have a ship you'd prefer, you can list it with your characters bio/intro (doesn't mean you're garunteed it though). Also: While the player's interaction with the game will be through commands using a battleship style map; the results of said commands will be conveyed through story format. As players are assigned on to different teams; how effectively a chain of command can be formed will determine your teams overall chance at victory. Good luck!

A quiet man who thinks before he speaks, analyzes before he acts, but never lets a call pass by. Combat in theaters against the Covenant Armada and various Insurrectionists give him more than enough merit to participate in these war games.

Re: The Operation Imperial Wargames Intro & Sign-up (A halo universe forum game by Mboddz)
Name: Atlas
DOB: January 24th, 2549
Rank: UNSC Smart AI
Branch of Service: Office of Naval Intelligence
Atlas was issued and established on January 24th 2549, in an attempt to analyze and learn more about the Covenant forces, their strategies, their culture, and the way they behave. On February 1st, 2551, the Office of Naval Intelligence acquired fragments of a Covenant BattleNet AI scavenged from the Covenant Carrier "Lawgiver", and integrated the data and knowledge into the AI Unit. Atlas provided valuable information of Covenant fleet tactics during the war. After the war ended, Atlas served as an AI used to help negotiate with the Sanghelli. As of now, he is currently working with ONI and UNSC Navy as part of a War Games simulation.
Atlas is similar to the UNSC Cortana AI, as well as the UNSC Roland AI, in the sense that he has his own personality core. Atlas is often making conversation with the crews around him on the ships he serves aboard, trying to learn more and feel apart of the team. Atlas constantly tries to distance himself from being compared to other AI, who are used as tools in most cases. Atlas often asks his designer, of who Atlas is based off of, the tough question of "Was I made apart of humanity, or for humanity?". Atlas is now nearing his recycling date, to avoid inevitable rampancy as an AI.
Atlas' appearance is an orange color, of a man who appears to be in his twenties, wearing a long coat and slacks. His hair is frayed and spiky. Lines of code display and glow over his arms, and the Sanghelli symbol for Cartographer is labeled on the back of his coat.

Name: Eric Hoel
Date of Birth: February 8th, 2515
Rank: Captain
Branch of Service: UNSC Navy
Ship Class: Paris-Class Heavy Frigate
- UNSC Lexington
With more than 30 years of naval experience under his belt and a reputation for bringing his ships home in one piece, Eric Hoel was a relatively easy choice for the UNSC’s captain seat on the Lexington. Like many of the Navy’s finest, Hoel's career grew out of the protracted conflict with the Covenant. He is widely known for his calmness during a combat situation and the assuredness of his orders.
Captain Hoel and the UNSC Lexington have seen action during the Fall of Reach, and during the Battle for Earth as part of the Home fleet. Throughout these conflicts, his actions have earned the Lexington multiple battle stars and commendations as well as the respect of his crew.

Re: The Operation Imperial Wargames Intro & Sign-up (A halo universe forum game by Mboddz)
Name: Dmitri Kasakov
Date of Birth: January 13th 2520
Rank: Commander
Branch of service: UNSC Navy
Ship Class: Stalwart-Class Light Frigate - UNSC Hereford
A relatively new Commander in the UNSC, with 15 years service under his belt and only 2 of those years in command of a frigate. To describe Kasakov as controversial would be right on the money. He was promoted after the Battle of Reach after his (then) Commanding Officer defected during the evacuation of New Alexandria.
His competence as a leader has been called into question on several occasions, usually because of his Russian nationality.

Name: Gavin Hoffis
Date of Birth: June 3, 2529
Rank: Petty Officer Third Class (PO3)
Branch of service: UNSC Navy
Ship Class: GA-TL1 Interceptor UNSC Guan yu
A man who has shown himself to be a leader if the opportunity permits it, But stays quiet most of the time, is the Co-pilot to the UNSC Guan yu. Gavin joined the UNSC navy when he was 20 after being able to escape his home of Paris IV while it was being attacked. During that battle he was able to see one of the greatest people in the UNSC military: Sergeant Major Avery Johnson. He knows how to distinguish when and when not to joke around, something his peers seem to lack, and he participated in the Battle of Sigma Octanus IV where him and his crew were able to shoot down 7 banshees, 2 vampires, and 4 seraphs. He has shown to be an exemplary pilot, but not the best. His longsword was away from battle, besides chi ceti, most of his 6 years in service so he only rose to the rank of petty officer 3rd class.
He is quite leen when compared to his peers, ranging at 6'5" and 153 lbs. He also has long dark brown hair. On his leave he enjoys a good book.

Name: Josh Mccanon
Date of birth: 4/7/2219
Rank: Captain
Branch of service: UNSC Navy
Marathon-Class Heavy Cruiser UNSC Abaddon
Well after being a high school dropout and falling far from grace after the rest of my family wanted nothing to do with me. I figured a final act of redemption would be to follow in my deceased fathers footsteps and enlisted in the UNSC. At 17 I became a marine and after five years in service I became an odst. Over a dozen drops and seven years later I became the commander of the UNSC Longhorn. Stayed in service with this ship long enough to see the captain go down alongside the ship and then get recovered with me as its new captain. I considered it a new ship even though it was an old friend and named her Abaddon for her toughness. I'm probably the nicest person you can meet, most people would never believe the background or history I came from. But when shit hits the fan, I can maintain a calm attitude and deal with it appropriately.

BUMP
my character as well.
Name: Evan Victor Monroe
Occupation: UNSC Navy
Rank: Commander
Background:
Evan Monroe was born on Earth in final years of the insurection campaign, and just before the openning conflicts with the Covennant. Monroe had spent his later teenage years watching news vids of the alien armada obliterate the outer-colonies and steadily make their way to Earth. By the time the Great War ended; Evan was 31 and had achieved the rank of commander by serving aboard the UNSC Quicksilver and being involved in her various battles. Eventually Monroe's superior was transfered and the Commander was to become CO of the ship. That was before Operation Imperial however.
