I want an AA-12 with an underbarrel shotgun and armor piercing slugs. Underbarrel shotty for close range, slugs for mid range, and armor piercing so each slug could penetrate multiple zombies.

If anything I would use a katana and a glock with a ton of magazines. I would use the katana for stealth or melee combat and my pistol for a confrontation of more than 3 zombies.

An AA-12 with drum magazine, which is attached to the part robot, part RC car thing. Yes, this actually exists, and is the main way the AA-12 is used, as the AA-12 is mounted upside down on the robot, making recoil downwards, and the supporting arm absorbing it.

A .22 caliber rifle.
Ammo is common, it's easy to clean, it's light, and it's an accurate semi-auto.
You don't need anything full auto or more powerful, unless your afraid the zombie chicks will think you can't "rise up" to the challenge.

Obviously you don't know how .22 Caliber rounds work. They are pretty horrible for use against anything besides small animals. They don't penetrate well, based on their lack of velocity, thus losing a lot of penetrative property from distance, as the bullet accelerates downwards, equaling even less velocity. Also almost any gun can be fired with single fire with the right amount of trigger control, its much more beneficial to have an automatic fire weapon in case shit goes down.

A .22 is perfect for a zombie apocalypse. You don't need to obliterate the brain, just damage it. anything past that comes from necessity of the moment, or psychological need.

We've had this conversation before, concluding that any form of firearms is a bad idea.

Melee weapons don't need ammo. They'll eventually break or need to be sharpened, but can be used way more than a gun. My personal favorite is a baseball bat. Is blunt, even a girl could crack a skull open with it, and can be used to push a single zombie away from you.
Something like a gasmask is a good idea too, to keep the blood out of your mouth/nose/eyes.

If you want to survive an outbreak, you'll be avoiding the zombies as much as you can. So it's not like you'll be taking down them in hordes, so a melee weapon is more reliable and useful than a gun.

I all ready have my survival planned out. First thing first, as I all ready have my motorcycle license, acquire a motorcycle(Stealing isn't bad once the shit hits the fan). Motorcycles are pretty maneuverable and can fit into the spaces in between backlogged cars. Part two, acquire shark suit, if a shark can't bite through it, a zombie can't either. Part Three, Machete, Part four, find a handgun and a rifle.

Finally I would head either North or South. I would head north, as the cold would affect the joints of Zombies, making it hard for them to move, or south, somewhere hot and humid, which would speed up the decomposition of zombies.
