Dead Island

I think it has the potential to be great, but still needs a solid year of refinement.

I'm upset that there are elemental weapons and completely unrealistic weapons in the game though. :/

I don't really want this game all that much to be honest.

So Far Cry 2 meets Condemned meets Dead Rising 2 meets L4D.

What I got from this video

1. Dead Island is made by a group of metrosexual europeans.
2. The Game is beautiful
3. The game actually looks like a lot of fun
4. When running, the stamina bar is in the middle of the screen, very annoying.
5. More RPG elements than I thought, awesome
6. Ability to kick, awesome.
7. Woman in a suit wayyy too good at killing zombies. I kind of wish the zombies were harder to kill, hopefully there is a harder difficulty
8. The HUD fits the type of game it is. Yet I am really against HUD systems and pop-ups. Hopefully there will be a New Vegas-esque mode that turns it off.

DAMN IT I was just rushing here to post it but I was beat to the post oh well guess I'll finish watching the video

If you noticed in the beggining of the video there was a fast travel board, so the island must be pretty damn big, it looks like alot of fun I can't wait for it.

Still loving it, still getting it.

Totally agree with you DeadApe, they should definately make some changes and include a hardcore mode. I would also like to see some sort of multiplayer aspect to this as well.

It has 4 player coop james unless you were refering to competitive which would not work very well.

No fattyboy 4 player coop was what I was talking about.

At the end of the video the guy said they are going to probably show coop at E3, I can't wait to see it and experience the game itself when it comes out.

Meh, this was disappointing, imo.

Don't worry Slacker eventually they will make a almost perfect zombie game, we can only hope this plays better than it looks or at least they refine it before it is released. Either way I will still give it a rent if it is bad when it releases.

but only Benjamin can wield electricity like that.

But if you had a rubber grip and a way of harnessing battery power or wires while keeping the current flowing wouldn't it work, even though it is unconventional or if electricity can even flow like that. Besides who cares its a game with zombies in it who needs realistic weapons.

Honestly it is just a video game.

It doesn't seem that bad. Open world elements, rpg elements, 4 player coop. Could be worth it

I don't remember anyone crying about the Megablaster or the lightsabers from Dead Rising... or the wheelchair with mounted machine guns, or any of the other entirely impossible stuff.

I guess people these days want a realistic zombie simulator, which really makes no sense because at some point its only a videogame and needs to draw a line between reality and being a videogame. I think Dead island is going in the right direction I am excited for it and hope it does well.

Realistic zombie simulator = you avoid zombies, and if you come in contact with them you have 1% chance of survival. That'd be fun.

Exactly Im glad Dead island took this approach, this is probably the best or as realistic a zombie game is going to get and I for one am fine with it. Theres no need for what you described above as long as its fun,does it really matter if its realistic?

But all I want gone is the elemental weapons, and I'd like a few more guns.

A solution to the electric machete or other elemental weapons is when you play just don't use them and forget they exist. And as the gun problem i am sure they have more guns in the game unless the devs said otherwise.
